We will only agree to act on a client’s behalf, with whom we assess as eligible to meet the minimum criteria for lodging a successful Australian Visa or New Zealand visa application. One Thing I Wish I Knew Before Visiting New Zealand

New Zealand was hands-down one of the most incredible places I’ve ever been. The kind of scenery that makes you stop the car every five minutes—snowy peaks, turquoise lakes, sheep literally everywhere. But if I’m honest? I underestimated how much planning it takes.

I thought I’d just wing it—rent a car, hit the road, and see what happened. And while that kind of worked, I also ended up missing some amazing spots because I didn’t know about booking DOC huts in advance or that some of the best trails close due to weather. Plus, I wasted time on a few touristy stops that just didn’t live up to the hype.

Midway through the trip, I found this guidebook New Zealand Travel Guide by John Christiano (on Amazon), and I wish I had it from the start. It had super down-to-earth tips—like which hikes are actually worth it, where to find low-key hot springs, how to avoid getting ripped off in Queenstown, and what towns are worth staying overnight in vs. just passing through.

If you’re heading to NZ, especially for a road trip, seriously—get that guide. It helped me skip the fluff and focus on the stuff that made the trip unforgettable: sunrise at Lake Tekapo, fish and chips by the sea, and finding quiet trails that felt like my own little slice of Middle-earth.
