The Magic of Castelvecchio in Verona!

Nestled along the Adige River, this 14th-century Gothic masterpiece was built by Cangrande II della Scala as a fortress and residence. Today, it houses the incredible Castelvecchio Museum with masterpieces by Mantegna, Pisanello, and Bellini!

Fun fact 👉 The iconic red-brick Scaliger Bridge (Ponte Scaligero) was rebuilt after WWII. Walk its battlements for epic sunset views over Verona’s rooftops!

In the quiet village of Possagno, Italy, I discovered more than cream, coffee, and meringues. I found the legacy of Antonio Canova, the master sculptor who poured his soul into marble. 💫

Born here in 1757, Canova became one of Europe’s most celebrated artists. His works were so lifelike, they seemed to breathe. He even sculpted Napoleon (who didn’t love it, funnily enough. The statue ended up hidden away and later found in London’s Apsley House).

Canova literally worked himself to exhaustion. His passion and perfectionism cost him his health. Yet his story reminds us: passion should elevate life, not drain it.

So here’s to art, balance, and a life as beautiful as marble, with a meringue and cappuccino in hand, of course! ☕🍰✨

✨ Matera Reborn: In the '90s, visionaries like Pier-Gregorio helped breathe new life into Matera’s ancient Sassi. He began by tracking down the original owners of several of the old stone dwellings. He bought the properties, one by one, and lovingly restored them into guest rooms.

✨ Today, Hotel Sassi has 47 unique rooms carved from the rock, and offers one of the most authentic, heart-filled stays in the city.

✨ Reviving the Sassi for tourism helped change the future of Matera forever. ❤

Layer upon layer of honey-hued stone homes, carved directly into the cliffs, stacked like a giant puzzle over time. And time, oh yes – Matera has had more than most. ❤
