The W**e Drive Safari takes guests beyond the tasting room and into the heart of the estate in a safari-style vehicle. Along the way, discover the vineyards, soils and natural environment that shape Waterford’s w**es, stopping at scenic viewpoints to taste selected w**es in the very landscape where they originate.

Back at the estate, the fascinating salt tasting reveals how different salts can influence and enhance the flavours and characteristics of w**e—a wonderfully unexpected sensory experience.

Slow and steady wins the safari.

The leopard tortoise — Africa's largest tortoise species and second-largest in the world — is a quiet marvel of the bush. Named for the striking gold-and-black patterning across its shell, it can live well over 75 years and grow to over 40kg, grazing steadily across savannahs from South Africa to East Africa.

Often overlooked in favour of the Big Five, the leopard tortoise is a reminder that Africa's magic lives in its smallest details too — patient, resilient, and beautifully unhurried. 🐢

Part of the , brings that same signature hospitality from the bushveld into the heart of Cape Town. Tucked away in the leafy green suburb of Claremont, this 1928 manor house — designed by one of South Africa's first female architects — blends heritage charm with quiet, considered luxury. Just 15 minutes from the V&A Waterfront, it's the perfect balance of tranquil escape and city convenience.

World Elephant Day 🐘

Today we celebrate Africa’s magnificent elephants and the people dedicated to protecting them.

At and (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development), Adine Roode and her passionate team provide lifelong care, rehabilitation and protection for elephants in need.

One of the most moving experiences at Jabulani happens as the sun begins to set. Guests enjoy sundowners overlooking the waterhole as the Jabulani elephant herd slowly makes its way home — gathering together against the golden African sky.

It’s a beautiful sight, but knowing the story behind these elephants makes it even more meaningful.
