Did you know that at Shikwaru Adventures, you can experience Botswana on a self-drive safari?

Imagine exploring the wilderness in your own vehicle, while our team leads the way. You follow our mobile safari vehicle along the routes, and our experienced guides take you to the best places for wildlife encounters, either in your own 4x4 or in one of our open safari vehicles.

And the best part? You don’t have to worry about the camp chores!

Your camp assistant and cook travel with you, taking care of the meals, setting up camp and handling the daily chores, while you simply sit back, slow down and enjoy the silence, space and peace of the African wilderness.

We came across this male cheetah in the late afternoon, as the golden light began to settle over the landscape. There was something mesmerising about the way his amber eyes caught the sunlight, blending with the warm tones of the rocks around him.

Cheetahs remain an endangered species, making every encounter with one feel that much more special. And every time we stumble upon these incredible cats in the wild, a little ray of hope surges, a reminder that there is still so much worth protecting.
