He came to me wanting Vietnam. He’s now booked for the Maldives.
And this is exactly why I love what I do.
Vietnam wasn’t a bad option. In fact, the itinerary we put together was really good — it had the culture he wanted, plenty of beach time for the family, and it worked within the budget.
But it didn’t quite grab him.
So we kept looking.
Having travelled to Mauritius several times, we explored Seychelles and the Maldives instead. And then I came across a package that made me stop and look twice.
The price and inclusions were exceptional. But that was only the starting point.
From there, it was about asking the right questions.
What would work best for two girls aged 7 and 9?
Which resort would give them the right balance of activities and relaxation?
A house reef for easy snorkelling?
A private pool?
A beach villa?
And could we make room for a few nights in a water villa too?
The final itinerary ended up being far more than just a destination change.
It became an incredible 5-star family holiday, with the details chosen specifically around them — and for the same budget he had originally given me for Vietnam.
His response?
“What’s the catch?”
There wasn’t one.
He couldn’t pay fast enough.
And honestly, these are the bookings I love most — when a client gives me a brief, trusts me to look beyond the obvious, and we end up with something they never knew was possible.
