The Horse Memorial in Gqeberha is one of only a few memorials IN THE WORLD built to honor animals that died in war.

Erected in 1905 to remember the thousands of horses that perished in the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902).

The inscription says:
“The greatness of a nation consists not so much in the number of its people or the extent of its territory as in the extent and justice of its compassion.”

PE was honoring animal compassion 120 years ago. Now in DAW 2100, we restore it as light.
