Happy World Ocean Day 🌊
It's important that we nurture our new generation of ocean ambassadors, that's why we love this Our Ocean Heritage programme that's coming up for National Youth Day on 16 June.

Environmental Awareness/ education event @ Sedgefield Scarab Open Air Theatre,
Each speaker on topics of nature conservation will be given the stage for 10 minutes.
Here is the Our Ocean Heritage program.
- 10.00 am - A thanks to participants and sponsors and brief Introduction by Project Ubumama Environmental Education - Sarah Mackie
- 10.10am - Mark Dixon speaking about Cetaceans found off the coasts from Wilderness to Plettenberg bay
- 10.30am - LUNCHBOX Theatre production of 'The Whale Show'
- 11.00am - Mark Brown - talk about sea birds of the Garden route
(Announcing the winners of the Sedgefield bird life photographic competition)
- 11.30am - Melissa Nel (ORCA Foundation) – Sharks of the Garden Route coastal waters
- 12.00 pm –Rudi Swart NVT - Our Afromontane Forests
- 12. 15 - Jess Seath - ‘The secret lives of fish: Why they matter more than you think.’
- 1pm - LUNCH BREAK with light jazz music by Maphiko Mncedisi
- 2pm- Giorgio Lombardi (NVT) - Talk about Fynbos & natural pollinators
- 2.15 pm - Clayton Cloete - Talk about a basic overview of bees and planting for bees.
- 3pm – Robin Petersen - Water Quality on the Garden
- 3. 15 – Sedgefied Fire Department – Crisis management for the garden route
- 3.30 pm -- Siyakhona Choir
