This little guy stuck his head out the grass verge - and the look of "surprise" on his face is just too cute. He seemed to do the look-left-look-right thing, waited for Mom to catch up, and then went across the road with Mom in close attendance. Letaba Camp - Kruger National Park. One of the camp residents - a Bushbuck. These antelope have found a safe haven in the camp and are incredibly tame - to the extent of stealing food off your plate if you let them!

The Samango Monkey is an uncommon sighting. This was taken in the main rest camp of the Hluhluwe Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal. They only inhabit a few well-forested areas of Southern Africa - and the best chance of a sighting is in the Hluhluwe/Mfolozi Game Reserve, as well in the areas around Sodwana Bay northwards to the Mozambique border. There are smaller populations in the afro-montane forests of Mpumalanga and the Eastern Cape.

Each individual zebra has a unique pattern of black and white stripes, much like a human's fingerprint. Even though the stripes may look identical to us, zebras can recognize each other by their distinct stripe patterns. In addition, scientists believe that the stripes may serve as a form of camouflage, confuse predators, regulate body temperature, or even repel biting insects. The exact reason why zebras have stripes is still a subject of ongoing research and debate among experts.
