In winter thousands of Cape Cormorants migrate to our region. They move daily from lakes to rivers and the ocean. With them come many extra Reed Cormorants, Little Egrets, Gulls, Herons and Darters. It is really a spectacle worth experiencing. Also in Winter we get other visitors from the Middle East, mostly from Saudi Arabia. The average person doesn't realize that they are here. They visit our shopping malls and restaurants, take part in all the adventure activities and visit the tourist attractions whilst staying in local accommodation establishments (mostly up market and luxurious) The Saudi visitors are a valuable source of income during the quiet winter months.

We have a little visitor on our jetty in the early mornings. Captured twice now! A Large Spotted Genet.
