Can you identify these very highly sought after species found in the Eastern Highlands and Lowlands of Zimbabwe ?. We had a phenomenal season with 280 species logged in with over 50 lifers for some folks and in our own private camp . Photos taken by Nick Hudson , Chris Cragg and Gary Douglas .

Mega rarity and a first for Zimbabwe with a European Pied Flycatcher seen by Jonathan Francis yesterday . We have some amazing sightings of exceptionally rare and endemic birds this season .
All our trips are tailor made however the major focus is the African Pitta, Harare and Miombo specials as well as the incredibly picturesque Eastern Highlands where many montane and lowland birds cannot be seen anywhere else in Southern Africa .

The amazing Taita Falcon seen on our current Eastern Highlands trip and a Scarce and Mottled Swift . Super rare hepatic Asian Lesser Cuckoo shot , and a poor back of screen of another Asian Lesser Cuckoo also seen same time , wow what a bonanza of Cuckoos today with a Barred Long-tailed Cuckoo avoiding a photo shot .

Our current Bird Safari through the Eastern Highland’s of Zimbabwe is going “swimmingly well” and there’s so much more on offer than the incredible birding we are having with birding rarities abounding and dwarf chameleons keep one aghast at their diminutive size, dovetailed with some superlative vistas and some adreno -ju**ie moments are just some of the amazing moments captured here

Wow interesting to see our total from pre Covid however we managed to get a respectable 273 species on our current African Pitta trip with 7 birds one morning this week . Looking forward to 2024 for similar sightings .
