Today, Naoero celebrates Ibumin Earoeni, the Day of Tribes.

A day for Dei-Naoero to come together and celebrate the tribes, traditions and culture that have shaped the island for generations.

The 12 points of the Naoero star represent the 12 original tribes, with 10 remaining today. At the heart of this tradition is a matrilineal system, where tribal lineage is passed from mother to child, carrying identity, heritage and connection through generations.

Across Naoero, the day is celebrated through cultural activities, traditional competitions, workshops and the Miss Aroeni competition, where young women proudly represent their tribes.

Today we honour the people, stories and traditions of Naoero, and the generations who continue to carry them forward.

Happy Ibumin Earoeni to all Dei-Naoero, at home and around the world. 🇳🇷.

Today, we are delighted to introduce Wendy Bowden as Chief Executive Officer of Nauru Airlines.

Wendy brings over three decades of leadership experience across aviation, travel and tourism, including 12 years previously with Nauru Airlines as Chief Financial Officer.

She returns with a clear vision to strengthen our airline, expand connectivity throughout the Pacific and continue building meaningful partnerships that support our communities.

Most importantly, Wendy is passionate about people. She believes great airlines are built by great teams, strong relationships and a shared commitment to serving the communities that rely on us every day.

As Wendy begins this new chapter, we look forward to continuing our journey together and building an even stronger future for Nauru Airlines.

🚨✈️ Important Travel Update

To our valued passengers,

We sincerely apologise for the disruption that many of our passengers may experience this week.

Due to ongoing operational limitations caused by unserviceable fuel trucks in Naoero, our flight schedule this week will be affected. As Naoero is a key refuelling point within our network, some services may experience delays, schedule changes or cancellations while we work to safely restore normal operations.

Our team is working closely with all relevant partners to minimise disruptions and maintain as much of the schedule as possible. We understand the inconvenience these changes may cause and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding.

Passengers with time-sensitive travel plans who are able to make alternative travel arrangements may wish to do so. If you choose to make alternative arrangements and no longer require your Nauru Airlines booking, please contact your travel agent or the Nauru Airlines Reservations team to discuss the options available to you.

If you are travelling with us this week, please continue to monitor your email and our official social media channels for the latest updates regarding your flight.
