🌟 Applications for Round 2 of the Regional Tourism Infrastructure Fund are now open!

Do you have a project that showcases the best of regional Queensland?

The Queensland Government is offering grants of up to $300,000 to support tourism projects including new attractions, visitor facility upgrades, eco-lodges, glamping experiences, agritourism ventures, ecotourism experiences and stargazing adventures.

The program supports projects that:
🏞️ Attract more visitors
🛏️ Encourage longer stays
💰 Increase visitor spending
📍 Strengthen regional tourism experiences
👷 Support local jobs and economic growth

If you have a shovel-ready project that can help grow regional tourism, we'd like to hear from you.

Reefworld reimagined: A new chapter for one of the Great Barrier Reef’s most iconic experiences 🪸

Reefworld has officially reopened, reimagined as one of Australia’s most unique remote stays, offering guests the opportunity to experience the Great Barrier Reef from a truly unforgettable setting at Hardy Reef.

The official opening brought together industry and media to celebrate this exciting new chapter for Reefworld and its place within the Whitsundays’ world-class tourism offering.

This time last week, Tourism Whitsundays proudly joined forces with Eco Barge CleanSeas for a community beach clean-up at Cannonvale Beach 🌞🌊

It was fantastic to see so many local businesses and community members come together to help protect The Whitsundays we all know and love.

Together, we removed more than 40kg of litter from the Cannonvale Beach area, helping to protect our coastline, marine life and the natural beauty that makes The Whitsundays so iconic 🩵

A huge thank you to Flight Centre Travel Academy, Above and Below Gallery, Just Tuk'n Around.airlie Beach Pedicabs and The Volunteer Cruise Ship Ambassadors - Airlie Beach for volunteering your time and making a real difference. A special shoutout to Fat Frog Beach Cafe for keeping everyone fuelled with a morning coffee afterwards ☕

This morning, Tourism Whitsundays, Reef Catchments and Reforest hosted a Member Information Session introducing local tourism businesses to a new initiative making it easy for visitors and operators to support local environmental restoration projects 🪏🌱 Reforest gives tourism businesses a simple way to get involved and visitors a chance to leave a positive impact.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion, including BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, Driftwood Tours, Flight Centre Travel Academy, Shorex Australia, OzSail, Whitsunday Escape, Whitsunday Rent A Yacht and Wildlife Whitsundays.
