🍽️ What to eat in Bali
Food is a big part of any Bali trip — and these are some of the local favourites you’ll find everywhere.
• Nasi Goreng – Indonesia’s classic fried rice, cooked with soy sauce, egg, and vegetables, often served with chicken, prawns, or satay.
• Nasi Campur – A mixed plate of rice with small portions of meat, vegetables, peanuts, sambal, and local side dishes. Every warung has its own version.
• Mie Goreng – Stir-fried noodles with soy sauce, vegetables, and usually chicken, prawns, or egg. A simple Bali staple.
• Babi Guling – A traditional Balinese dish, slow-roasted with spices until the skin is crispy and the meat is tender and flavourful.
• Gado-Gado – A fresh mix of boiled vegetables, tofu, and egg topped with rich peanut sauce. Light but filling.
• Terang Bulan – A thick, fluffy sweet pancake filled with chocolate, cheese, peanuts, or condensed milk.
• Martabak – A crispy or fluffy stuffed pancake, either sweet or savoury, usually packed with chocolate, cheese, egg, or meat.
Simple, tasty, and easy to find everywhere — from small local warungs to beachfront restaurants.
