Meet Charlii 👋

After 60 continuous hours at sea from Melbourne we pulled into Eden knowing that after a good nights sleep at anchor we required fuel and provisions to continue our passage up the coast to Sydney.

On Saturday morning we berthed at the commercial fish dock in Eden only to discover there are no fuelling facilities on the Harbourside.

Charlii who works for one of the many Pilchard fishing vessels not only gave us directions to the Main Street but then loaned us her car so we could purchase 80 ltrs of petrol in Jerry cans and all the catering to see us through.

Such a kind gesture towards someone she had never met.

Charlii is a Commercial boat Coxswain and has gathered the required hours to take her Master 24 course and exam and wants to build a career in the maritime sector.

Fishing is one of the most dangerous occupations in the world with long anti-social hours and smelly working conditions.

I wish her well in her future career aspirations as she deserves everything she is working towards
