As the weather warms up, our flying starts to turn south — towards Tasmania and the beautiful islands of Bass Strait.

And one place we can’t wait to return to is King Island, with our first departure for the season on 02 October.

We are thrilled to have just operated our first two 2026 Lake Eyre Safari departures — and what a spectacular start to the season.

Over the past week, guests have witnessed an extraordinary sight: Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre already holding an incredible amount of water, with thousands of pelicans gathered on Delhunty Island. In the calm autumn conditions, our skilled pilots were able to descend to 500 feet, giving guests a remarkable view of the lake, its birdlife, and even fish visible in the water below.

After more than 50 years and hundreds of flights to Lake Eyre, we are genuinely amazed by how full the lake already is.

Autumn is one of the very best times to experience Lake Eyre. Generally calmer conditions, clear air and milder temperatures make for superb flightseeing.
