Study Tour Season is around the corner! We have many international guests heading to our shores in July/August and we are seeking homestay hosts across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads areas. This year we have already had homestay groups from China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and India!

Today we will farewell one of our own, one of our team and one of our family... Please note that our office will close just before noon today so we can attend the funeral of our beloved Ken Payne, who passed away suddenly on the 11th May.
For any emergencies, you can contact our emergency phone but we will otherwise take this time to grieve together. Thank you.

When the Christmas day storms hit, we were not sure what to expect but our hosts took the situation in their stride! Some of the students ended up with an Aussie "glamping" experience and the feedback was great! Thanks again to our hosts and to the AIST team - we look forward to working with you and your students again soon!

Our study tours are here for 1 to 4 weeks approximately, and we fill their days with education from some of our fantastic partner schools and as well as fun activities and sightseeing. We are seeking host families that would be happy to introduce the students to home life in Australia, and provide 3 meals per day, wifi and transport to and from school. Our hosts are remunerated for this cultural exchange to help with the costs.

Homestay hosts wanted near Redcliffe / Clontarf / Rothwell / Margate and surrounding areas! We have students coming from China arriving Sunday 28 Jan - Saturday 03 Feb 2024 and are seeking hosts that are able to provide a happy home for 2-3 Chinese students for 6 nights. These students require 3 meals per day, wifi and transport to and from school in Clontarf. Our homestay hosts are remunerated for hosting students to help with costs. Here are some of our students enjoying art classes at school during their recent study tour.. can you believe we are already preparing for next season? January February 2024 looks to be a great study tour season already!
Now is the time to let us know if you are interested in hosting next year, and for our returning registered hosts, we definately need to know any updates you have for your family profile (eg. new pets, moving house, new contact details, etc).
We can't wait to welcome our international students in 2024!

"We were hoping to be able to spot a koala in a tree to show our Demi Pair Mayu from Japan,.. knowing that they are sometimes hard to spot.. but imagine our luck when one happened to climb down from a tree with her baby, and move to another one tree right in front of us! Amazing!!"

Catching up with our long term homestay host Sally recently, she told me that they are still in regular contact with their previous students, including Wenxi, who returned home in 2019 after spending a year with their family:

"People often ask me why we do homestay, the card Wenxi left us is the reason why. When a student embraces your family it is truly special"

"I have the most beautiful two page letter she wrote to me on her graduation night too which I love to read! Makes me cry!"

"I'm still in contact with Wenxi all these years later, she usually sends me a special photo of herself at Christmas in China which I look forward to."

"Our daughter will be holidaying in Japan this year with the plan to visit some of our other past homestay students - she now speaks Japanese as a result of homestay!"
