The Cu Chi Tunnels are one of Vietnam’s most fascinating and eye-opening experiences. This vast underground network was developed during the struggle for independence from French colonial rule and later became a key stronghold for the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War.
Beneath Cu Chi, around 75 miles of tunnels were used as living quarters, hospitals, storage areas and communication routes, forming part of a much larger network that stretched across Vietnam.
Want to get a taste of what life underground was really like? On a visit, you can even crawl through a section of the tunnels yourself!
