While higher water levels and seasonal flooding are part of the river’s natural cycle, the conditions we are experiencing right now are extreme and stand in stark contrast to the calmer, familiar scenes many visitors are used to seeing. Mostar and its surroundings is home to a wide range of sites, activities, and attractions that could keep you enthralled for days, but we always recommend starting your explorations with a walking tour. Understanding our history, culture, and traditions will lead to a better appreciation and understanding of all that you will encounter on your visit.

For those of our guests who are interested in Mostar’s earliest appearance in the history books, we recommend Sheva’s Heart of Mostar Walking Tour. On this tour you will explore the cobblestone pathways of Mostar’s Old Town and UNESCO World Heritage Zone, focusing on our Ottoman past.

There are two ways to join us in the Heart of Mostar during your visit! Join us on one of our tip-based group tours at 12 Noon or 7 PM or schedule a private tour with us. Private tours can be scheduled at a time of your choice and customized to include additional activities like visiting Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque and Minaret, an authentic Ottoman residence, traditional Bosnian coffee tasting, and more!

We were delighted to welcome Sara back to Mostar with Alberto. Sara had last been in Mostar following the wars 30 years ago when she contributed to humanitarian aid efforts in the community. This is when Sara first met Ĺ evko.

On this visit, Sara returned to Mostar as friend and traveler, not only renewing personal ties from so many years ago, but experiencing the vibrancy of Mostar today and the transformation it has undergone in the last decades. A meaningful conversation over dinner and private tour of Mostar (in Italian) highlighted the changes which have taken place over the years and the challenges we are still overcoming today.
