Our guests began in the UNESCO designated Old Town area with a stop at Badžak’s coppersmith workshop, discovering a centuries-old craft and the stories, symbols, and cultural traditions preserved in every piece of handmade copperwork. The tour concluded at Šehitluci, where Sheva shared his personal perspective on the social and political landscape of Mostar and Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

While higher water levels and seasonal flooding are part of the river’s natural cycle, the conditions we are experiencing right now are extreme and stand in stark contrast to the relatively calmer, familiar scenes many visitors are accustomed to seeing. This moment is a reminder that the Neretva River is as powerful as it is beautiful and that to truly know Mostar is to experience the Neretva in all of its many moods.
