We travel to see places we have never seen, to learn histories different from our own, to taste new foods, and hear unfamiliar languages. But perhaps one of the greatest gifts of travel is simply meeting people we might never have met otherwise.One of our favorite things about our shared group tours is watching this unfold every day.

A group gathering in Mostar might include travelers from Brazil and Canada, Norway and Thailand, Lebannon and Bulgaria — people of different ages, cultures, religions, backgrounds and experiences who, a few minutes earlier, were complete strangers.

Then, for the next few hours, they walk through the same streets together. They listen, ask questions, laugh, exchange stories and experience a new place alongside one another.

Mostar is a city whose history reminds us just how consequential our differences can become when we allow them to divide us. But travel can offer something very different. It asks us to be curious about people and places we don’t yet understand.

And again and again, we are reminded that beneath all those differences, we tend to share far more than we imagine separates us. That is one of the reasons we love what we do. Free Walking Tours are not only about discovering a city. 🧴 Wear sunscreen and a hat.
🌳 Explore during the coolest parts of the day.
🌊 Take a break by the rivers! Whether you’re relaxing at a riverside café or simply finding a shady spot near the water, the river creates its own welcome pocket of cool air.

Our summer time temperatures are one reasons our Original Sheva Walking Tour departs at 9:30 AM and 6:00 PM, with our shorter tour at 11 AM. These are times at which it is much more comfortable to wander the city’s streets and discover its history.
