🕳️ Did you know that the only way in and out of besieged Sarajevo was a 1.5-meter-high tunnel? 🕯️

From July 1993 until the end of the siege in 1996, the Sarajevo War Tunnel (Tunnel of Hope) was the city's sole lifeline to the outside world. Thousands of people and tons of vital supplies passed through this 800-meter passage every single day. 📦

Dug entirely by hand using pickaxes and shovels under the dim light of oil lamps, it stands today as one of the most powerful museums dedicated to human resilience. 🕊️

⛪ Did you know that St. Anthony’s Franciscan Church was once the only Catholic place of worship in Sarajevo? ✨

First built in 1882, this historic complex served as the seat of Sarajevo's first archbishop until the Sacred Heart Cathedral was completed. 🕊️

The present-day church was designed by the renowned architect Josip Vancaš and consecrated in 1914. Alongside the monastery, it features the Small Gallery of St. Anthony, which hosts cultural events and art exhibitions throughout the year.

🏛️ Did you know that a flame has been burning on Sarajevo's main promenade since 1946? 🔥

The Eternal Flame (Vječna vatra) is a famous monument to the liberators of Sarajevo in World War II, unveiled on April 6, 1946, on the first anniversary of the city's liberation. 🕊️

Designed by architect Juraj Neidhardt, this simple yet iconic memorial features a commemorative plaque and a copper hearth shaped like a laurel wreath, with a flame symbolizing eternal memory. 🔥

It is located in the very heart of the pedestrian zone, right at the intersection of Titova, Ferhadija, and Mula Mustafe Bašeskije streets. 📍
