Introducing Waterfalls Lodge – Now Open!

There’s a brand new way to experience the magic of Victoria Falls. Waterfalls Lodge, by our friends at Wild Horizons, officially opened this week — and it’s absolutely beautiful.

From tranquil spa spaces and lazy river pools to lush gardens and Zimbabwean-inspired design, this 60-room lodge is a true tribute to the rainforest and Falls that surround it.

“Congratulations to the Wild Horizons team on this exceptional addition to the Victoria Falls landscape. Waterfalls Lodge is a testament to what thoughtful, design-led hospitality can look like. We look forward to showcasing it to our international travel buyers during the Africa’s Eden Travel Show in November.”
— Jillian Blackbeard, CEO of Africa’s Eden

🛫 New connectivity for Zimbabwe!

Starting 8 August 2025, fastjet will launch a direct Victoria Falls ↔ Bulawayo service, operating three times a week with Embraer ERJ135 aircraft.

This is fantastic news for regional tourism, unlocking smoother links between two of Zimbabwe’s most iconic destinations — one known for the world’s most powerful waterfall, the other for its vibrant cultural scene and deep historical significance as the gateway to Matobo Hills.

Increased regional air access is key to boosting cross-border travel across Africa’s Eden, and this route is a welcome step in that direction.

✈️ Cape Town International Airport Named Best in the World – A Win for Regional Travel

According to the newly released AirHelp Score 2025, Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) has officially been ranked the best airport in the world — a major accolade not just for South Africa, but for regional tourism across Southern Africa.

With an impressive overall score of 8.57, CTIA excelled in on-time performance (8.6) and customer experience (8.7), outperforming major hubs like Hamad International (Qatar), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Brasília (Brazil), and Salt Lake City (USA).

This recognition highlights Cape Town’s position as a premier gateway to our region. With direct flights from Cape Town into Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Mozambique (and beyond!) it serves as an essential hub for travellers connecting into the wild and wonderful landscapes of the Africa’s Eden network.

Cape Town’s continued investment in excellence makes travel feel seamless and inspiring and for our region, it opens more doors to discovery.

The future of Zimbabwean tourism is in good hands.

On 25 August 2025, the Future Leaders Challenge Zimbabwe will bring together a new generation of hospitality and tourism leaders in Harare. These young innovators will tackle real challenges, guided by mentors and supported by leading organisations in the sector.

We’re proud to support this important initiative — and even prouder that our CEO, Jillian Blackbeard, has joined the Future Leaders Challenge Board.

Led by Luckson Zambuko, the challenge is about more than skills. It’s about vision, cultural authenticity, service excellence, and opportunity.

At Africa’s Eden, we believe investing in people is one of the most powerful ways to grow tourism sustainably and inclusively.

Let’s build the future of African travel, together.

We’ve teamed up!

Africa’s Eden has just signed a strategic partnership with SAACI – the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry. That might sound official (and it is!), but what it really means is:

➡️ More opportunities for our members
➡️ Bigger networks to tap into
➡️ And a stronger bridge between leisure travel and business events in our region

“We’re excited about what this partnership means for our region. It breaks down silos between the leisure and MICE sectors while giving our members access to networks, capacity-building, and shared platforms.”
— Jillian Blackbeard, CEO, Africa's Eden

Big news! AviaDev Africa is coming to Gaborone, Botswana in 2026 — and we couldn’t be more excited!

This is a huge moment for Africa’s Eden and especially for our CEO, Jillian Blackbeard, who grew up in Gabs. ✈️

We believe better air access unlocks the true magic of African travel, and bringing AviaDev to Botswana is a major step forward in showcasing our region to the world.

Why do YOU work in travel?

Let’s be honest—tourism isn’t always the easiest industry. It takes passion to keep showing up. The hours are long, the challenges are real, and being "out of office" usually just means you're answering emails from somewhere with slightly better scenery.

But then… you get moments like this.

Meet Bee, our accounts superstar, standing on top of Big Daddy in Sossusvlei this past weekend while on a trip with Gondwana Collection Namibia after our recent Windhoek Roadshow. It’s the kind of moment that makes you pause and go: ahhh, yep… this is why.

(And in case you're waiting on an email reply—she might still be shaking sand out of her shoes.)

So, tell us—what keeps you going in this industry?

What’s YOUR "ahhh, it’s worth it" moment?

Let’s hear your stories 👇

Congratulations to Zambia Tourism Agency on a successful ZATEX 2025!

Africa’s Eden extends its sincere congratulations to the Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) for hosting a truly impactful edition of the Zambia Travel Expo this year. Held under the theme "Sustainable Tourism: Driving Inclusive Growth", ZATEX 2025 delivered a powerful platform for connecting global buyers with Zambia’s vibrant tourism offering.

We were especially proud to have our Africa’s Eden board member, Gillian Saunders, represent the private sector voice as keynote speaker during the opening session. Her presentation, "Enhancing Tourism Promotion for Sustainable Growth," offered clear and forward-thinking strategies to ensure Zambia’s tourism sector continues to grow in a way that is inclusive, competitive, and sustainable.

Thank you also to Hon. Minister of Tourism Rodney Sikumba and ZTA CEO Matongo Matamwandi for their leadership and commitment to elevating Zambia’s place on the global tourism map.
