✈️ Exciting news for Zambia and regional travel!

Africa’s Eden is delighted to welcome FlySafair’s new direct route between Johannesburg and Lusaka, launching on 1 February 2027.

With five flights each week, the service will offer travellers greater choice and make it easier to connect between Zambia and South Africa while supporting tourism, business travel and visits between family and friends.

Greater air access means more opportunities for travellers to discover Lusaka and continue their journeys to Livingstone, the Lower Zambezi, South Luangwa and beyond.

A very warm welcome to FlySafair and we look forward to seeing this new route take flight!

If You Can’t Measure It, You Can’t Market It

From 27 September 2026, new EU rules will raise the bar for environmental and sustainability claims. For African tourism businesses, credible evidence will increasingly influence buyer confidence, reputation and market access. Melissa Foley explains what the changes mean—and what businesses should do now.

✈️ More capacity for regional travellers!

Following strong demand since its introduction in August, fastjet Zimbabwe will continue operating its Airbus A320 on the Victoria Falls–Johannesburg and Harare–Johannesburg routes until the end of October. The aircraft will also return for the busy December festive season, providing additional seats when demand is at its highest.

Great news for regional connectivity and travellers planning their end-of-year journeys!

🌱 This spring, I’d like to plant more than trees. I’d like to plant an idea.

Dolly Parton is credited with saying:

“If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then you are an excellent leader.”

Those words have stayed with me because leadership is not only about what we say. It is about the choices we build into the way we do business.

So, this first day of spring, I would like to invite our Africa’s Eden community to join a movement:

One Trip, One Contribution.

Consider building a donation into your budget for every international travel trip your business makes. The amount is entirely up to you. What matters is making support for the places that sustain our industry a consistent part of how we operate.

The Africa’s Eden Community and Conservation Partner Programme includes vetted regional charities and NGOs with strong linkages to the tourism community. Three organisations you might consider supporting are:

🌿 Conservation South Luangwa, Zambia
🌿 Pristine Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
🌿 PARCo, Mozambique

This is by no means an exhaustive list. If you know of another credible charity or NGO that would like to become part of the Africa’s Eden Community and Conservation Partner Programme, please reach out to us.

Small contributions, repeated across hundreds of journeys and businesses, can grow into something powerful.

If you are already doing this, tell us who you support. Your actions may inspire another business to begin.

Let’s plant something worth growing.

Jillian Blackbeard
CEO, Africa’s Eden Tourism

Sometimes, it’s all in the details 💛

The gorgeous bags made with local fabrics from Botswana. The Africa’s Eden magazine. The smiles. The great coffee. And all those wonderful conversations happening in between.

Johannesburg was the third stop on our four-city South Africa Roadshow, but meeting someone at one of our shows is really only the beginning. It’s the start of a conversation, a new connection and, hopefully, many exciting opportunities ahead.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Johannesburg and brought such brilliant energy to the day. May the connections continue well beyond the show!

Second stop: Cape Town! And, as always, the Mother City did not disappoint. 💛

Over two fantastic days at the gorgeous Mount Nelson Hotel, our exhibitors met with almost 100 travel buyers, sharing the beautiful destinations and unforgettable experiences found across the Africa’s Eden region.

It is such a privilege to showcase our part of the world, and we cannot wait to welcome these buyers, and their clients, to experience it for themselves.

We may have gone a little wild with the happy snaps, so here are lots of photos in absolutely no particular order! 📸😂

See yourself or someone you know? Tag away and please share!
