You don’t always need a 600mm lens to make a great wildlife photograph. 📷

This moment was photographed with a Canon 90D paired with a 70–200mm lens.

Long lenses are fantastic when your subject is far away, but they aren’t always the best choice. When wildlife comes closer, a shorter focal length can give you more flexibility to capture the animal within its environment, tell a wider story, and sometimes creates a completely different perspective.

The key isn’t always having the longest lens, it’s knowing when to use what you have.
