Watching. Learning. Growing.

For now, this young lion cub is content to observe from the sidelines. In time, guided by the experience and strength of his pride, he will learn what it takes to bring down one of Chobe’s formidable buffalo.

Every great hunter starts somewhere.

A remarkable new chapter is unfolding in Matusadona National
Park.

The return of black rhino to this extraordinary wilderness marks an important milestone in the ongoing restoration of one of Zimbabwe’s most iconic national parks. After years of dedicated conservation work, careful planning and collaboration between conservation partners, these magnificent animals are once again part of the landscape they once called home.

Their arrival is a powerful reminder of what long-term conservation can achieve and a hopeful step forward for the future of the park. It is wonderful to see Matusadona National Park continue its journey towards renewed ecological health, with black rhino once again contributing to the rich biodiversity that makes this wilderness so special.

A moment worth celebrating for conservation, wildlife, and future generations.

A short clip of an exceptional cheetah sighting at Mashatu Game Reserve in southern Botswana.

One of the great joys of safari is that expectations rarely have a place. The only certainty is that Botswana is a beautiful destination, rich in wildlife, landscapes and unforgettable moments.

A safari is not a museum, where everything is neatly arranged and waiting to be seen. Nature reveals itself in layers, often when you least expect it. Every game drive brings its own surprises and more often than not, those surprises are extraordinary.

This memorable cheetah encounter is a wonderful reminder of why no two safaris are ever the same.

A journey defined by contrast, with each destination offering a completely different perspective of Botswana. This safari seamlessly combines the vast, open stillness of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans with the waterways of the Okavango Delta and finishing with classic big game in Moremi.

The first part of your safari is spent at Jack’s Camp, where the experience is centred around the landscape itself – stark, surreal, and unlike anywhere else in the country. From here, the transition into the Okavango Delta is striking, with water-based activities introducing a different pace and perspective at North Island. The safari then concludes in Moremi at Tawana, where the focus shifts to exceptional land-based game viewing in one of Botswana’s most wildlife-rich regions.

A safari that showcases Botswana’s striking contrasts with the desert, water and wildlife-rich areas this itinerary offers a refined and high-end experience on every level.

A glimpse of what the reimagined Kwetsani Camp at The Jao Reserve is set to become.

These renderings offer an exciting preview of the camp's future look and feel, blending contemporary safari design with the comfort and sense of place that make this corner of the Okavango Delta so special.

The redesigned interiors appear lighter, more spacious and elegantly understated, with thoughtful touches that connect guests to the surrounding wilderness while enhancing comfort.

While these images are renderings, they provide a fascinating look at what awaits once the refurbishment is complete. We look forward to seeing the finished camp come to life and welcoming guests to experience this new chapter of Kwetsani.

What do you think of the new design?

The lionesses: "Should we investigate?"
The wildcat: "You may."

A tiny cat in the middle of a group of lionesses is not something you see every day. The lionesses appeared surprisingly ready for 'war'.

Honeymoon safaris will always be some of our favourites to plan, especially when couples get to experience Botswana’s wildlife and landscapes for the very first time together.

Haeran & Shane spent 2 nights at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero and 2 nights at Sanctuary Baines’ Camp as part of their honeymoon safari through Botswana.

Recently, they sent us this lovely feedback after their trip:
“Just wanted to reach out to thank you for helping us organise the most wonderful safari trip. Chobe Chilwero and Baines’ Lodge were incredible and the game drives were fantastic. The Okavango Delta was a particular highlight we caught sight of lions, cheetahs, a leopard and hyenas!

Everything throughout our stay went smoothly (accommodation, transits, etc.), so thank you again for all your help and your swift responses to all our queries leading up to the trip.

We’ll be sure to recommend you to any of our friends who are interested in travelling to Africa in the future.”

Thank you again, Haeran & Shane, for trusting us with such a special journey. It was a privilege to be part of your honeymoon memories, and we are delighted that Botswana left such a lasting impression. A thank you as well to our travel expert Nadine, who carefully put this honeymoon safari together and ensured every detail ran smoothly from start to finish.

The Okavango Delta is just magical.
One of the most special sightings from our colleagues this past weekend a magnificent leopard descending gracefully from a tree. Chilly mornings, crisp fresh air and moments like these that remind us why the Delta is unlike anywhere else on earth.

Pure wilderness. Pure wonder.

The Okavango in winter has arrived and it is spectacular!!!
