A safari is more than the wildlife you see.

It’s a collection of moments, from first light to the final glow of the campfire.

It’s the anticipation as your guide searches the landscape ahead.

The privilege of observing wildlife and sharing a moment in its natural home.

Relaxing in camp with a drink in hand, simply being present in the stillness of the wild.

Stories and laughter shared over dinner.

Slipping into a comfortable bed, going to sleep surrounded by the sounds of the bush, eagerly awaiting what tomorrow has in store.

The wildlife may bring you to Botswana, but it is often these moments that stay with you long after you leave.

“This has been an incredible and unforgettable experience in Moremi. We are so grateful to have experienced the Okavango in its full glory, while learning so much from Rob & Moa. We loved navigating new hidden roads to discover spectacular scenery and wildlife. We had the most marvelous time relaxing in camp, enjoying delicious food and falling asleep to the sounds of the wild”

Thank you to our wonderful guests for these kind words and for embracing the Delta in all its wild and changing beauty.

With exceptional flood levels, the Okavango Delta has reminded us that safaris are never static. Access has been limited, campsites and routes have changed, each day in the bush calls for flexibility, patience and experience.

It is seasons like this, that exceptional guiding becomes even more important - not just knowing where to go, but understanding how to adapt, read the landscape, interpret what the bush is telling us. It is about creating experiences that go far beyond simply ticking off sightings.

Safari magic isn’t always found in the sightings you set out hoping to see. Sometimes it’s the unexpected combinations, the tiny details, or the unique scenes that stop you in your tracks - simply because they’re something you never expected to find around the next corner.

A tiny malachite kingfisher perched perfectly in front of a huge female crocodile basking in the sun, partially hidden amongst the vegetation.

That’s what we love about safaris, you just never know what is waiting for you around that that next corner.

Every journey through the wild is different, made up of moments that stay with you long after you have left. Each moment holds its own meaning, some are fleeting and some settle deep within you.

If you could take just one moment from a safari, what would it be?

Every clip of this extraordinary wildlife - witnessed by our guests in moments that can feel like once in a lifetime - is only possible because of continued protection.

On World Wildlife Day, we honour the privilege of operating in Botswana – a remarkable country home to one of the last places on earth, where animals still move freely across fast, unfenced landscapes. It holds Africa’s largest population of elephants, endangered species such as the African wild dogs, and over 400 bird species.

This wildlife is the very reason we exist, and we are proud to play a part in helping to protect it.

When you travel here, you are not simply witnessing nature – you are contributing to its future. Every guest supports conservation through low impact tourism, local employment , and the preservation of wild areas.

Let’s secure the future of our wild world.

Botswana skies - unfiltered, uninterrupted, unforgettable.

True darkness is a luxury few places on earth still offer.
In our roving and expedition camps you are completely immersed in the heart the wilderness with just canvas, firelight and the vast African sky stretching endlessly above you.

These are the kind of evenings that stay with you long after you leave.

Happy birthday to Charlotte, our brilliant co-director, whose invaluable input, attention to detail and unwavering love of all things Botswana and safari, has led to our company being what it is today.

Since joining the business in mid-2013 she has put her hand to all aspects of the business; from sales to marketing, from operations to HR, plus so much more that would take too long to write out.

Most recently she has undertaken the mammoth project of a stunning refurbishment of our luxury tents and communal areas in camp.

Anyone who has stayed in our camp will have experienced the stylish eye behind all the big and little touch points, comforts and visuals which transform an otherwise canvas-laden bush camp into a luxurious, utterly comfortable home for all our guests in the magnificent Botswana wilderness.

This has all been done whilst also being an incredible mother to three year old Rose, a proper bush baby herself, and an amazing little girl who is equally happy and comfortable in the bush.

We are lucky as a company to have Charlotte take such an important lead on a great many essential facets of what we do.

Today we celebrate her on her birthday, and all that she has done and achieved for the last 12 years, not only making us as a luxury safari operator what we are today, but also celebrating her as a wonderful person, and as an incredible mother to beautiful Rose.

As a company we are grateful for you Charlotte, we thank you and wish you a blessed and happy birthday!

It’s hard to beat the magical early mornings on safari.

Waking up in a small intimate mobile camp in the heart of the wilderness - no walls, no crowds, only the crackle of the campfire, comfort of a hot coffee, the moon fading, and the stillness of nature all around, leaving you feeling deeply connected to the wild.

Small pauses on safari can sometimes lead to the biggest memories:

On an afternoon game-drive in Moremi last week, guests wanted to stop for a closer look at a lilac breasted roller perching on a stick on the ground. We waited patiently for it to take off in hope of catching an in-flight shot.

A quiet scan of the area whilst we were waiting revealed another sighting entirely, just behind us, looking directly into the sun, we thought we could see the faint outline of a cheetah’s face amongst tall grass.

Binoculars confirmed it was a relaxed female cheetah resting peacefully on the mound who had no doubt been watching us for some time. We spent the rest of the afternoon with her, completely alone, no other vehicle in sight. Just us and one of Africa’s most elegant predators.

It’s moments like this that remind us that stopping and pausing in the wilderness to take in and observe your surroundings and the smaller wildlife, can sometimes lead to unexpected sightings and make a safari truly memorable.
