Happy Friday!
This week is ending with a blissful paddle around the cottage lined shores of the First Chain Lake in Ponoka County, tonight from 6pm-8pm.

This lake has a few neat features such as the Tree House, Camp, and a fun maze of reeds we can explore when conditions are just right. Beavers and waterfowl call this lake home and we should be starting to see lily pads coming up soon too.
Located about 10 minutes SE of Ponoka, the lake is a gem to discover.

Two hour tour. We provide the kayak, pfd, and all the equipment you need. Fully guided. Beginner friendly. Easy pace. Easy paddling. No swimming or silly shenanigans.

$60/single. $90/tandem. $40/BYOKayak

Look at that weather! Hot hot hot!
Head to the best life after work and join us as we paddle Middle Chain Lake just a few minutes north of Clive AB. Enjoy a relaxing paddle in our very stable kayaks, check out the birds, watch the beavers play, maybe spot some deer or a moose too. We supply everything you need, give you some basic instructions, and guide you around the shoreline. Slow pace, perfect for first timers and those of us with some body parts that arent what they used to be.

Magee Lake you say? Absolutely! Who's with me? My favorite lime kayak has had a failure, waiting for parts, so I'll have to paddle one of the fleet boats. Do you have a favorite? Our Rips are known for being quick turning and a bit speedy. Our Pungos and Loons are known for their comfy seats. The Daggers are fun on the river and for scooting around the lake. Only the best in our fleet for our guests.

This photo was taken on Lacombe Lake, moments before my footbrace snapped off for some unknown offensive reason. I suspect some UV damage, some excessive pressure, bracing to turn around looking behind me, and to just make me sad. Easy fix, less than $200 for parts, but they may be a bit befire they arrive so if you see me in a different kayak this week, just know that not even a disaster could keep me off a lake :)

Are you looking for the best escape from ordinary this Summer? We got you.

Join us for a three day, two night expedition on the serene Red Deer River! This trip launches at Trenville Park Campground , goes through Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park, camps at Tolman and Morin, ending at Drumheller!

We supply the guide, gear, and grub. You supply your sunglasses, sandals, pillow and sleeping bag. We have thought of everything. Meals catered by the fantastic chef at DNA Gardens.

This adventure is suited for strong beginners or those with a bit of paddling experience only due to the distance we will be traveling.

Last night’s paddle was lovely on Lacombe. Today is looking a little sketchy weather wise but not to fret, Wednesday is forecast to be perfect weather.

May 27 6pm-8pm we will be exploring Magee Lake. Room for 6 more to join the group. See the eagles, beavers, waterfowl, and possibly deer and moose too!

It was a great weekend camping at Trenville Park Campground and paddling on the beautiful Red Deer River to Tolman Bridge with a fabulous stopover at Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park. Just us 5 friends checking out water levels, flow rates, times, and making sure no hazards from the winter. The river was perfect.

Overall, spectacular weekend and ready to conquer the river with guests for the 2026 season. Book your Red Deer River excursion now. Available weekends and holidays.
