Thanks to Sandra for the insider tip! Nothing beats a leisurely stroll through these stunning spots and we’re counting down to Thursday nights Bronte Lake Notes, where live music under the sails lights up Bronte Heritage Park!

With golf season in full swing,🏌️‍♀️we’re celebrating the incredible legacy of Sandra Post! As the first Canadian to shine on the LPGA Tour, her journey from Oakville to winning a major championship at just 19 is nothing short of inspiring.

With eight Tour wins, to launching a successful academy and giving back, her impact is undeniable! Sandra was the first Canadian to play on the LPGA Tour and has been inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, Canada’s Golf Hall of Fame, Ontario’s Sports Hall of Fame, Ontario’s Golf Hall of Fame, and Oakville’s Sports Hall of Fame. She was also appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada in 2004.

You can currently find her as an instructor at Burloak Indoor Golf. If you haven’t been, it’s a 14,400 sq. ft. year-round golf and entertainment facility featuring 12 premium Trackman simulators and has a licensed lounge/restaurant Casey's Clubhouse at Burloak Indoor Golf! This June, join Oakville in celebrating love, inclusion, and community for Pride Month! ✨

🏳️‍🌈 The progress rainbow flag will fly at Town of Oakville's Town Hall throughout the month in support of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

🌈 Take a stroll across Oakville’s rainbow crosswalks located along Lakeshore Road at the intersections of Navy Street, Kerr Street, and Bronte Road.

📖 Visit the Oakville Museum to experience The Historytellers Project, a student-curated exhibit celebrating the stories and experiences of Canada’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

🎬 Catch screenings of the short films I Wanna Hold Your Hand at Film.Ca Cinemas and Ice Ice Bye Bye online as part of Oakville Festivals of Film & Art's Oakville Film Festival on various dates.

🥾 Walk the Moccasin Trails along Sixteen Mile Creek Trail and Bronte Creek Heritage Trail to experience the land through an Indigenous perspective.

🏛️ Check out Debwewin: The Truth Project Exhibition at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, an exhibit that offers insight into the experiences of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

🏛️ See Stolen Childhoods at the Oakville Museum an exhibit sharing the lived experiences of residential school survivors.

🌳 Stop by Tannery Park to explore the Moccasin Identifier, outdoor gathering circle, and the “Rooted in the Land” history wall created in partnership with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
