One of our favorite humpbacks has returned to the Salish Sea! BCX0519 (aka Stitch) completed his trip from Hawaii with an unknown friend as they surfed the swell through the Juan de Fuca strait this afternoon.
It's just about that time of year when we start to see a consistent flow of humpbacks returning to the area to feast and pack on all of the weight they lost throughout the mating season.

2hr Wildlife Tour, March 18 and 19 2026

This week we had the pleasure of taking some brave travellers out in some heavy rain but it didn't stop us from some fantastic encounters! Killer whales were spotted on both days near Race Rocks with T124C and T46C2 on the 18th and T49C on the 19th. On both tours we witnessed a harbour seal hunt which made for some great action. We also spotted our first humpback whales of the year (unidentified), a new (to us) sea otter, a northern elephant seal, tons of sea lions and over a dozen bald eagles scattered around Race Rocks.

We'll take this as a sign that 2026 is going to be a fantastic year!

We're all set to welcome you for our 2026 tour season! All 3-3.5 hour Whale and Wildlife Tours are open for booking and just to sweeten the deal, we are offering a 15% discount to any bookings made before April 15th.

We expect full boats all summer long, and as we book up we plan to open up some afternoon departures to accommodate. Book ahead of time to secure your spot!
