Did you know that humpback whale songs can travel hundreds, sometimes thousands, of kilometres through water? Those songs are not only heard but felt as vibration throughout the body.
So naturally as you can imagine, when we are in the water near singing whales, the sound waves pass directly through tissue, bones, and the nervous system. This is why many describe the experience not as listening, but as being immersed in sound. The vibration is often felt in the chest, spine, jaw, and abdomen, areas closely linked to emotional regulation and the vagus nerve. This kind of vibrational exposure can create a profound sense of connection as awareness shifts from thinking to sensing; as it quiets the mind and brings us back into the body. This is one of the many reasons whale songs are experienced as healing not because they fix something, but because they help the body and soul remember a deeper rhythm, the origin of creation, and the true essence of who we are.
You don’t only hear their songs through your ears.
You feel them in your heart.
If you are hearing their call, join me in Tonga from 23–29 October 2026.
