Afghanistan keeps pulling us back 🇦🇫
Every year we find a new route, meet different people, stumble into moments that weren’t on any itinerary.

The drives through the mountains, the chaos of Kabul’s old bazaar, sitting by Band-e-Amir when there’s nobody else around.

If the idea of travelling somewhere most people won’t even consider sounds good to you — write to us.

Next group trips:

📍January 22–31, 2027
📍May 20–29, 2027
📍October 8–17, 2027

Private tours available on request. DM us for all the details 📩

Wadi Doan - a hidden paradise and one of the most stunning valleys in Hadhramaut, Yemen 🇾🇪
We come here for the mountain landscapes, mud-brick villages and views over palm oases.

People here live like their great-grandparents did: still building with clay and making honey - some of the best in the world, ask anyone who’s been.

We’re going back:
📍October 29 - November 3rd, 2026
📍December 26 - January 1st, 2027

Security update: Socotra, Yemen – May 2026

As many of our routes are non-standard, we want to give a clearer picture of how things are actually managed behind the scenes - so we are starting to share security updates like this across the destinations we operate in.

At the end of 2025, over New Years Eve, one of our groups was temporarily stranded on Socotra due to flight cancellations. We have already shared the full details separately, but the key point is simple: everyone returned home safely.

Since then, we have strengthened our checks and procedures for this destination.

What is the current flight situation?

There is currently one weekly flight from Jeddah to Socotra, operating on Tuesdays with Yemenia Airlines. These flights are booked through our partner travel agents.

What do we check before sending a group to Socotra?

Before any group travels, we carry out a full review of all key elements. This includes travel documentation, the local operator and guides, vehicle condition, campsite setup, weather conditions, and insurance coverage. We also confirm emergency contacts, first aid provisions, food and water standards, and ensure the route matches the group’s physical ability.

Each group receives a detailed pre-trip briefing covering risks, packing requirements, expected conduct, and what to do if plans change.

Our autumn tours to Socotra are ready, and we honestly can’t wait.

We’re heading back to a place where the trees look like they’re from another planet and beaches have no one on them.

📍 Diksam Plateau – thousands of dragon blood trees with flat canopies and deep red sap.

📍 Wadi Dirhar Canyon – a massive canyon that splits the plateau clean in two.

📍 Arher Beach – white sand and a 300-metre sand dune right next to it.

📍 Cave of Abdullah Alloi – Abdullah was born in this cave by the lagoon and still lives here.

📍 Shoub Beach – only reachable by boat. Dolphins almost every time on the way.

📍 Homhil National Park – dragon blood trees, bottle trees, and a natural rock pool with views over the entire southern coastline.

And this is just beginning, we show you the Socotra that doesn’t exist in any guidebook.

Next Tours:
•October 20 – 27th
•November 24 – December 1st

True luxury in 2026 is understanding how differently a life can be lived.

In South Sudan we learned how much bigger the world really is. Sleeping in a cattle camp, sharing meals we had never tried before, and experiencing traditions that felt completely new to us.

And it changes the way you look at everything you thought was “normal”.

📍Next tour: November 11-20

Still processing what we just saw.

Pakistan looks like somewhere your brain hasn’t been before: landscapes so big and so raw that everything else just stops to attention for a while. Just mountains that make you feel genuinely small.

This trip will stay with us for a long time.

Join us again from Sept 3–16.

Today we asked our tour leader Irmante five questions.

With ten years and more than half the world behind her, she’ll tell you her favourite spots (spoiler: she’s a little obsessed with North Africa right now), what’s always in her bag for Socotra, and what a decade of leading groups through some of the world’s least-visited places has actually taught her.

One thing that stuck with us: «The more countries I visit, the more I see how misunderstood many places are. I’ve mostly encountered kind, welcoming people who genuinely love sharing their culture. Maybe I’m naïve, but that’s what I’ve seen.»

Swipe to read her answers.
