American by birth, Portuguese by residence card. A recovering journalist turned Creative Director, self-diagnosed with «too much moxie.»

His first trip with Rocky Road was Syria, Autumn 2024, shortly before the collapse of the Assad regime. Since then, Mauritania, with Papua New Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Libya, and Algeria already booked.

ALGERIA: EXPECTATION VS REALITY 🇩🇿

Algeria is one of North Africa’s most diverse and least understood destinations.

We travel through the country from the Mediterranean coast and historic cities to the Sahara, combining cultural sites, local food, mountain landscapes and time in the desert.

Socotra was isolated from regular air connections for decades, and it still feels that way.

Based in the south of Norway, working as an accountant. Most of what she earned as a student went straight into travel instead of savings, and she says she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Her first trip with us was in Syria - September 2023. Ten trips and eight countries later, her most recent was South Sudan, last November.

A year ago we started donating a share of the profit from every tour to Médecins Sans Frontières MSF Ireland | Doctors Without Borders
We don’t dictate where or when it’s used, the money goes straight into MSF’s general fund, and they decide where it’s needed most.

Here’s what they do:
•Iraq: emergency surgery for victims of conflict, mental health support for survivors, training local medics
•Syria: supporting hospitals in conflict zones, vaccinating children, providing maternal care
•Yemen: treating cholera, fighting malnutrition, helping the wounded
•Afghanistan: maternal care, mental health programs
•Somalia: fighting malaria, running nutrition programs
•South Sudan:emergency medicine in displacement camps
