Egypt launches global photo contest to spotlight underwater heritage
The Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities announces the launch of a *photography competition*, starting, August 1, 2025.
The competition aims to select the best photograph highlighting one of the artifacts recovered from the Mediterranean Sea, currently on display at either the *Graeco-Roman Museum or the Alexandria National Museum*.
Participation is open to *photographers from both Egypt and abroad*. Eligible photos must be taken between *August 1 and August 10, 2025*, during the official opening hours of the two museums in Alexandria.
Participants are required to submit their photographs, along with a brief biography, via email to *[email protected]*, no later than *Thursday, August 14, 2025*.
A specialized jury, composed of a panel of university professors and experts in the fields of photography and archaeology, will evaluate the submissions under the supervision of the competition’s technical committee.
The winners will be announced on *Monday, August 18, 2025*, and will be honoured at an *official award ceremony* to be held on *August 21, 2025*.
