There’s something truly magical about the world of b***y birds, especially here in the Galápagos Islands, far from the noise and rush of modern life.
During mating season, the males gather on the shores – not with a ring, but with a dance.

These amazing seabirds are natural-born dancers.
The males lift their brightly colored feet high, step by step, in a carefully choreographed performance that tells a story of love and hope.
Their feet, which can be a striking bright blue or deep red, glow in the sunlight and catch the attention of the females.

It’s a competition of charm and skill: who can impress the most, who can show he’s the strongest and healthiest partner to start a family with.
When a female chooses her mate, it’s not because of a song or a gift, but because of his dance — the purest language of connection.

Beyond this enchanting courtship, bo***es are fascinating creatures from a biological and historical perspective.
They belong to the Sulidae family, skilled hunters that can dive from heights of over 80 feet straight into the ocean to catch fish with incredible precision.
While they’re most famously found here in the Galápagos, they also live on other tropical islands around the world.

Their funny name, b***y, comes from the Spanish word bobo, which means fool or clown.
Early explorers gave them this name because the birds weren’t afraid of humans and could be caught easily — a behavior that seemed foolish at the time, but in truth came from living in an isolated environment with no natural predators.

Watching these birds dance is a magical reminder of how love, life, and evolution are all connected — and why the Galápagos Islands remain one of the most incredible places on Earth.
