We had a wonderful day with this American family discovering Rioja Alavesa — from the spectacular architecture of Ysios to lunch at Marqués de Riscal, with time to explore the medieval town of Laguardia and take in these incredible vineyard views.

What a wonderful day with this lovely couple visiting from Florida!

We started early with the hike to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, continued to Gernika for a visit and lunch, and finished the afternoon on the coast in Zumaia.

Hiking, history, great food, spectacular scenery and, most importantly, wonderful company. One of those days that reminds us why we love private tours around the Basque Country.

From tiny berries to almost harvest-ready grapes... 🍇

These photos were taken between May 29th and August 3rd and show how quickly Rioja vineyards change throughout the summer.

By the end of August and into September, the grapes will be ready for harvest, beginning another vintage in one of Spain's most celebrated w**e regions.
