My great friend Lisa Genova (author of the blockbuster STILL ALICE, among other bestsellers, with four more books currently in development for film) and I are hosting an intimate retreat in FRANCE for just 13 writers at a stunning 5-acre estate in Teyssode, Occitanie. Seven nights, a saltwater pool, hot tub, and fruit orchard, with a repurposed barn turned workshop space.

Expect daily craft sessions and one-on-one time with both of us, plus half-day trips to the medieval towns of Castres and Lisle-sur-Tarn and a wine tasting at a nearby vineyard estate…all fueled by meals from our own private chef. Everything's included except airfare.

Italy has a way of slowing everything down. The afternoons stretch longer, the light filters gold through the olive trees, and somewhere between sketchbooks in the grass and ink swirling across paper, you lose track of time completely. 🎨

Maybe it's the stillness of the clear blue sky or the tranquility of sun-dappled poppy fields, just begging to be painted. Maybe it's the way color moves when you least expect it, marbled blues and earthy browns twisting together on the page like little accidents of beauty. ☀️

There’s something about summer that makes you say yes to new creations, new places, new adventures. It’s the perfect time to try a new technique, sit a little longer in the grass, and let a place shape what you make without even trying. 🇮🇹✨

Greece has a way of making everything feel more vivid. The light is golden, the sea is endless, and somewhere between the whitewashed walls and the scent of salt in the air, you find yourself reaching for your brush without even thinking about it. 🖌️

Maybe it's the way the afternoon sun melts into the Aegean Sea, or the stillness of a cobblestone alley that seems to hold its breath just long enough for you to capture it. Maybe it's the colors, terracotta, cerulean, the deep green of olive trees swaying slowly in the breeze. ⛵

Summertime is the perfect time to let art and travel lead the way. To pick up your brush somewhere new, and let a place move you in ways you didn't expect. 🇬🇷💫
