Another beautiful sunrise in Sainte-Foy this morning. We currently have an anti-cyclonic high pressure sitting over the Alps, which overnight holds down a layer of warmer air (thus lower pressure), which has been warmed by the ground. The moisture in this warmer air condensates when it meets the colder high pressure air, forming this wonderful sea of cloud in the valley.

Breaking News

Effective today, December 1, 2025, the lift company and the management of the Sainte Foy Tarentaise ski area has been taken over by the Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise Municipal Authority.

This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by the Monsieur le Maire, Yannick Amet, his team on the Mairie and their lawyers. Their commitment to Sainte-Foy ski station is to be applauded. Securing the ongoing operation and seemless transition of the lift company in the run up to its eventual merger with the Tignes lift company is welcome news for all who love skiing in Sainte-Foy.

A huge thank you to all involved!
