As the dust finally settles, why not take a look at it's rich heritage through th

e eyes of a local gardener, or take one of our half day trips by local bus to a seal colony and castle. Or take the Eco Train Journey Walk a long sandy beach, and jump on the train again for a railway journey of the world into Northern irelands second city.

A huge moment for Belfast’s music and cultural scene: new research from PRS for Music and the British British Beer & Pub Association has crowned our UNESCO City of Music as the UK’s top city for live music in pubs 🏆🎵

Beating every other location across the UK - including Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, and Brighton - this latest recognition underscores Belfast’s status as a world-beating music city, where live performance thrives at every level.

Our deep-rooted live music culture has long been central to our identity. In 2021, Belfast was officially recognised as a UNESCO City of Music, reflecting its rich heritage and the role music plays in everyday life. This latest research highlights how vital pub gigs are to that landscape, providing a stage for both new and established artists and keeping live music at the heart of the city.

The findings coincide with the launch of Pubs Go Live, a ten-day nationwide initiative celebrating live music in pubs across the UK. The campaign, backed by artists such as the Kaiser Chiefs, The Lottery Winners and Finn Forster, shines a light on the vital role pubs play in sustaining the music industry.

Live music in pubs has always been an essential part of Belfast’s musical DNA and this latest recognition only reinforces our standing as a hub for world-class, grassroots music ✨
