We have some exciting news! 🤓

Berwick’s Food & B**r Festival is set to return in 2027!!

Berwick’s much-loved food & b**r festival is set to continue, following the formation of a new community interest company dedicated to securing its future and building on its growing success.

We’ll be seeing the return of our popular fixture, held every August, attracting thousands of visitors.
What began as a small food market nearly 20 years ago has developed into a lively weekend celebration, with this year’s event featuring 75 stalls alongside a large music and b**r marquee. 🤯

Following the withdrawal of Berwick Slow Food, the festival’s future was uncertain... However, a group of dedicated volunteers have now come together, with plans to ensure the event continues for years to come.
Berwick Town Council has welcomed the initiative and agreed to provide officer support as the plans progress.

• Looking ahead, organisers are exploring an expanded layout for the festival, with proposals to host the market on the Parade Ground in front of the Barracks and relocate the music and b**r marquee to The Stanks football field!

(Subject to the necessary permissions, the proposed move would create additional space for visitors and traders, improve accessibility and help minimise noise for nearby residents.)

Plans are also underway for a dedicated website, expected to launch early in the New Year, where visitors will be able to find festival information and purchase tickets.

Local businesses will also be able to apply for stalls, explore sponsorship opportunities and become involved in supporting the event. With ambitions to build on this summer’s success, organisers hope to make the festival even more family-friendly while continuing to celebrate Berwick’s food, music, independent businesses and community spirit.

The plans mark an exciting new chapter for one of Berwick’s established summer events, with the aim of creating a festival that both residents and visitors can look forward to enjoying each August.🙏

FREE FIREWORKS AT SPITTAL QUAY —

TOMORROW NIGHT 🎆

Remember, remember, the fifth of November!

To celebrate Guy Fawkes Night, we’re putting on a free firework display at Spittal Quay tomorrow (Thursday 5th November) at 5:30pm, lasting around 10 minutes.

Bonfire Night is one of the great British traditions — dating all the way back to 1605, when Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot failed to blow up Parliament. Over 400 years later we’re still lighting up the sky every 5th of November, and this year Spittal’s getting its own show. 🔥

📍 Best vantage points: Spittal Point, or Dock Road beside the Rob Roy. Please don’t come onto the site itself — it’s a working construction site, so enjoy the display from a safe distance.

🐕 A heads-up for dog owners: fireworks and four-legged friends don’t mix, so please keep your dogs safely at home tomorrow evening.

A reminder that this week our Gelato Parlour moves into the first stage of our Winter Opening Hours so please plan ahead and check our own website for current opening hours. Giacopazzi's Fish & Chips will continue to open until 7pm Sunday to Thursday and until 8pm on Fridays & Saturdays with a selection of ice cream available by the scoop when dining in.
