Happy National Cat Day from Bowmuir Farm!

Let’s be honest, every day is cat day when you’re Sprinkles and Crookshanks

Sprinkles is our Head of Guest Relations and Chief Nap Tester. She's our gorgeous dark stripey cat with that unique, beautiful face - one half ginger and the other half dark!

Crookshanks is our Yard Supervisor and Barn Patrol. He's our gorgeous, classic ginger cat who loves keeping an eye on the place.

Behind every running farm is a stellar pest control team and a very dedicated welcoming committee.

They might spend 80% of their shift sleeping on the job, but we couldn't imagine life here without our two favourite felines

Keep an eye out for our lovely pair when you're visiting the Bowmuir farm, they're always up for a chin scratch and a friendly hello!

☀️ Happy Friday from Bowmuir Farm! 🐑✨

There is nothing quite like pulling up our driveway on a gorgeous, sunny day like today. The weather is beautiful, the weekend is officially here, and we are ready to welcome our wonderful guests to Bowmuir Farm!

If you're arriving this weekend don't forget to stop and say a big hello to our resident VIP, Dasher the sheep! He loves visitors just as much as he loves this sunshine.

🌲 Top Tip Tuesday: Discover the Forestry! 🌲

Looking for the perfect spot to stretch your legs (and your pup's) during your stay at Bowmuir Farm Holidays?

You don’t even need to get in the car. The Forestry sits directly behind our cabins and is ready for you to explore!

🐾 Perfect for Dogs: It is wonderfully quiet and a safe, open space for dogs to have a brilliant off-lead run.

Whether you want a short stroll or a much longer hike, you can follow the wee paths or completely make your own route.

Keep your eyes peeled for plenty of local wildlife and the hidden small reservoir right in the middle of the woods.

How to get there straight from your cabin:
1. Head up from the cabins using the track by the dog exercise field.
2. Walk through the beautiful wild meadow.
3. Pass right into the forestry and start exploring with your hiking hound!

✨ The Best Part? The Post-Walk Relaxation! ✨

There is absolutely nothing better than a content, tired sleeping pooch after a big adventure (just like our Jess 🐾)

While your pup enjoys a well-earned snooze, you can slip into the hot tub to soak your tired muscles, or put your feet up with a warm cuppa in hand for a peaceful, relaxing afternoon in your cosy cabin.

💚 Here at Bowmuir Farm we are marking World Mental Health Day by reminding you to slow down, breathe, and make time for yourself.

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it is so important to step back, slow down, and take a breath.

Today is a gentle reminder to prioritise your wellbeing and find peace in the simple things.

For us, mental health care looks like:

🐾 Spending quiet time with our beautiful farm animals - Animals have a magical way of lifting our spirits!

🚶‍♂️ Filling our lungs with fresh air on a long, peaceful walk

🫧 Letting the stress melt away in the warm bubbles of the hot tub

Celebrating here at Bowmuir Farm! 🍳

It only makes sense today to give our absolute stars of the show a massive shoutout. Well... maybe a slightly louder shoutout to our chickens than our ducks right now! 😂 We still love the ducks, but we still haven't managed to find their new secret laying spot. Result: still zero duck eggs for us! 🦆🕵️‍♀️

Luckily, our wonderful chickens save the day, laying the freshest eggs every single day for us and our lovely guests here at Bowmuir Farm. Thank you, ladies! 🐓❤️

👉 Swipe along to see all our gorgeous girls, including Ducken! She is our special chicken who genuinely identifies as a duck and refuses to hang out with the rest of the flock. She still lays her fresh eggs every day, she just prefers the company of her duck friends! 🦆🐓❤️
