Today is a very special day: a couple of my best friends (and Nixie’s godmother and godfather!) are off on the adventure of a lifetime.

They are currently flying out to Kenya for a safari 🐘🐆🦓before joining an organised tour to climb Mount Kilimanjaro 🗻

For this trip they’re travelling on a small-group tour with expert guides throughout, and all the specialist equipment provided, which makes big challenges like Kilimanjaro achievable for people who are fit, prepared and up for it.

Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, so it’s no mean feat. 🗻

This morning at 06:50, little Nixie and I were on FlightRadar watching their plane take off from Heathrow, making sure everything was running smoothly, just as I do for all my clients. I don’t usually have Nixie involved, but she’s now as addicted to flight tracking as I am!

They may have left a little late from Heathrow, but they’ll arrive in Kenya later today ready to begin their incredible adventure.

🚢 A very special day onboard Majestic Princess! ⚓️✨

One of the things I love most about being a Travel Counsellor is the opportunity to experience the holidays and products I recommend to my clients.

Today, Princess Cruises invited just 160 Travel Counsellors onboard Majestic Princess while she was in Liverpool, and I was lucky enough to be one of them! 💙

Even better, I was able to bring my daughter along too, so we could experience the ship together. She has had the most amazing day! 🥰

We explored the ship, viewed the facilities, sampled the food and enjoyed a couple of cocktails (for me! 🍹😂), getting a real feel for what a holiday onboard would be like.

I was particularly impressed by how family-friendly Princess Cruises is. The kids’ clubs looked fantastic, with lots of hands-on activities for younger children, while the teen area really stood out to me. There was much more than just screens and computer games, with table tennis, Connect Four, interactive games and a great social space for older children and teenagers.

The pool deck looked brilliant too, with a lap pool over two metres deep, a smaller plunge pool and Movies Under the Stars 🎬🌟

The service was fantastic, and overall I came away incredibly impressed with Majestic Princess. It’s definitely a cruise experience I’ll be talking to more of my clients about.

Days like today are so valuable because I get to see the ships, experience the facilities and understand which holidays will suit different clients and families.

Today is World Elephant Day: a reminder that our love for elephants should always protect them, never put them at risk.

As a Travel Counsellor I’m committed to arranging only ethical elephant experiences: no riding, no shows, no forced interactions or photo ops. Instead, I partner with sanctuaries and conservation projects that focus on rescue, rehabilitation and long‑term welfare.

Some of the incredible places I work with include:
Elephant Hills and Phuket Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand, Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Elephant Valley Project in Cambodia, Tiger Tops Elephant Camp in Nepal, Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation & Care Centre in India, and the inspiring Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi.

TC Cruise 🚢 Together London, out cruise conference, was absolutely brilliant.

120 Travel Counsellors, 30 cruise suppliers, industry experts and Travel Counsellors head office and development team, all together for a full day of cruise.

The cruise market is one of the fastest growing sectors of the tourism industry, and a sector I’m hugely passionate about.

I got to spend 1 on 1 time with my cruise suppliers asking them specific questions about cruises related to my clients already booked, prospective cruisers and even about cruises for clients that I think would love a cruise but haven’t yet tried one!

I learnt about industry statistics, future developments, cruise ship news and of course all about the fantastic offers and opportunities currently out in the cruise market.

The day was definitely worth the trip to London, even with all the cancelled trains, cramped underground and excruciating heat at Euston Station 🥵!

I’m now fully armed with information, offers and inspiration ready to share with you, so watch this space!!!!
