Back at It! 🎣

I’ve been a bit quiet on social media lately as I’ve taken a short break from posting, but it’s time to get back into it!

The first couple of this season’s fishing holidays are now in the log book rather than the diary, and it’s been great to get back out on the water with some fantastic anglers. We’ve enjoyed some cracking fishing at times, with good company.

A big thank you to everyone who has joined us so far and those who are planning on joining us this season. There’s plenty more to come, with fishing holidays, Charters and Bluefin Tuna Trips not that far ways all lined up over the coming months.

It’s licence announcement day 👀

Best of luck to everyone waiting on that all-important email 🤞

As you’ll know, licences come with mandatory training. In due course, you’ll be given a list of approved trainers delivering a set syllabus — and there’ll be lots of experienced skippers on there to choose from, myself included.

If you fancy doing your training aboard Our Joe with me out of Brixham Marina, feel free to get in touch ⚓️

I’ve got availability from mid-May onwards. The course can be completed in a single day or spread over a couple of evenings, giving us plenty of time to go through everything properly and make sure you get the most out of it.

2026 Bluefin Tuna Charters Aboard Our Joe

With a strong 2025 season behind us, bookings for 2026 are now open.

• Falmouth, Cornwall – from 1st to 9th August

• Torbay, Devon – From late August onwards

Due to demand for earlier trips, I’ll begin the season in Falmouth for around 10 days before returning home to Torbay as usual.

Fishing further west gives us the best chance of early action — there’s typically a 2–4 week window between fish arriving in the Western Approaches and the big surface bust-ups we’re used to seeing off South Devon.

This season I’ve set aside some dates to run my shark trips out of Looe, Cornwall, while I’m down there for the legendary Shark Angling Club of Great Britain Festival.

I’ll be competing again this year, which means I can offer a limited number of prime early-season sharking dates either side of the competition.

I’ve secured accommodation just off the quay, so I can also offer an all-in-one shark fishing package, similar to our Paignton fishing holidays.

Looks like Official Bluefin Tuna Training is coming to Torbay this year 👀🐟

Good news for the future of the fishery.

If you’re thinking of applying for a licence this coming season, keep an eye on my socials — I’ll share the details as soon as I know more.

I’m really looking forward to passing on more of what we’ve learnt so far. It’s probably been my favourite part of the fishery to date.
