🌳 Team building with a difference... 🌳

We're really excited that our GeoAdventures team-building events are starting to gather momentum.

Last week we met with a business to plan a GeoAdventures Cache Dash for their team, and we're looking forward to welcoming them to the National Forest.

Between us, Katy and I have over 45 years' experience leading groups outdoors. We've seen first-hand how exploring somewhere new, solving problems and working together can help people build confidence, strengthen relationships and, most importantly, have fun.

That's exactly what inspired our GeoAdventures team-building sessions.

Over around three hours, teams work together to solve clues, find caches and explore the beautiful National Forest. It's a chance to step away from the office, think differently and enjoy some friendly competition. If you'd like to make more of the experience, we can also include lunch.

Where's Wally... GeoAdventures style! 🌳😂

Planning our new Cache Dash has involved disappearing into the undergrowth, climbing trees and arriving home with leaves and twigs in our hair. 🍃😂 We might have got a little carried away... 🤭

The Cache Dash itself won't require quite as much scrambling as our planning sessions, although you should be prepared for the odd bramble, a bit of uneven ground and plenty of exploring!

We've been busy planning our very first GeoAdventures Cache Dash, and we can't wait to share it with you!

If you enjoy a bit of friendly competition, love solving clues, or just fancy trying something a little different, this one's for you.

Here's what you need to know:

➡ Teams of 4–6 people (family groups welcome!)
➡ Compete against other teams to find caches and solve clues about the landscape
➡ 2.7-mile route around Barton-under-Needwood
➡ Saturday 26th September at 2pm
➡ £10 per team

🌳What a fantastic first season we've had! 🌳

When we set up GeoAdventures, we hoped there might be other people who'd enjoy getting outdoors with us to discover the fascinating stories behind the landscapes of the National Forest. We had no idea how many people would share our enthusiasm!

Over the past few months we've:

➡ Led 10 GeoAdventures, took part in the National Forest Walking Festival and hosted two private bookings
➡ Walked 29.8 miles together
➡ Met 63 wonderful GeoAdventurers
➡ Found 9 geocaches (and had one spectacular geocaching fail! 🤦‍♀️)
➡ Eaten copious amounts of chocolate (especially orange KitKats!) and the odd hot cross bun 🍫
➡ Taken over 300 photos
➡ Shared countless stories about the history, geography and wildlife that make the National Forest such an amazing place

We've loved meeting so many lovely people, seeing familiar faces return, and watching new friendships form along the way. We love seeing people stop to appreciate something they've never noticed before or discover a hidden geocache that they've walked past many times. Sometimes we need to stop, slow down and just look around us.

A huge thank you to everyone who's joined us this season. Your enthusiasm, curiosity and sense of adventure have made every GeoAdventure a genuine pleasure.

We're taking a short summer break while the weather is a little too enthusiastic ☀️🥵, but we'll be back in the autumn with more GeoAdventures, including our new Cache Dash events. We can't wait to explore with you again! 🌳🥾

The last of our 10 GeoAdventures took place this week. Branston Leas - a beautiful setting. It got hotter as the morning went on, but fortunately we were finished by midday. 🌞

A couple more pics from our Croxall Lakes to the NMA walk last week.

The confluence of the River Trent and River Tame can be seen on the edge of the NMA site. It's always an impressive sight, even in drier conditions like we have at the minute.

This September we're launching GeoAdventures Cache Dash.

Gather your family or friends and work together to solve clues, discover hidden caches and climb the leaderboard.

A fun-filled geocaching team challenge is coming to the National Forest this September.
