Day 6 - We visited the ancient city of Ephesus, one of Turkeyโ€™s most impressive archaeological sites. Walking along its marble streets and seeing landmarks such as the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre brought history to life. Afterwards, we spent time in Kusadasi, enjoying the seaside atmosphere, local shops, and beautiful Aegean views. It was a memorable day combining fascinating history with coastal charm.

Our overnight stay in Istanbul started with brunch at ร‡ฤฑraฤŸan Palace Kempinski on the Bosphorus, a stunning property and the perfect place to stay for one night when arriving from a cruise ship. From there, we headed to Sultanahmet to visit Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace, followed by time exploring the Grand Bazaar.

Later, we took the historic Tรผnel Funicular, walked through Taksim Square and along ฤฐstiklal Caddesi, and visited Galata Tower before heading back to the Blue Mosque for some evening photos.
The following morning we spent time browsing the shops at Galataport and enjoying traditional Turkish baklava before returning to the ship.

Our first port of call was the beautiful town of Chania in Crete, with its charming Venetian harbour, colourful streets, and relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed a fantastic spa and massage at the beautiful Casa Delfino Hotel, a luxurious boutique hotel in the heart of the Old Town, owned by the same family for six generations and full of character and traditional charm. Afterwards, we headed to the harbour area for drinks and soaked up the stunning views before returning to the ship.

Day two of our bank holiday weekend trip took us to Reims, often described as the capital of the Champagne region.

We spent the morning exploring the city before heading to Maison Pommery, where we visited the estate and its grounds. Lunch followed at V***e Clicquot, with a lively, upbeat setting.

In the afternoon, we went to Ruinart, the oldest established Champagne house, before finishing the day at Taittinger for a cellar tour and Champagne tasting in the chalk galleries beneath the city.

On our last day in Luxor, we woke up early, watching hot air balloons drift over the West Bank at sunrise, with stunning views of the Nile and desert below.

Later, we explored Karnak Temple, wandering through the Hypostyle Hall and among the massive columns, before returning to the hotel for a few hours spa session to relax ahead of our flight home. A perfect end to our Egypt trip.

Arrived in Luxor and checked into the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa, set right on the Nile.

Visited Luxor Temple at sunset. The scale of the temple is impressive - huge columns, towering statues of Ramses II at the entrance, and long avenues lined with sphinxes. As the light faded, the stone shifted from gold to deep amber, and the whole complex stood out against the darkening sky.

Finished the evening with a drink at the Sofitel Winter Palace Luxor, followed by a walk along the Corniche and a stroll through the souks.
