What a lovely break we had at The Old Dairy Cottage. The welcome pack was a nice surprise, had all the essentials and the eggs were delicious!The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. It was so warm and cosy.The bed was so comfy it was difficult to get up in the mornings.Our little dog Pixie loved the garden and felt very much at home. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory watching the birds and playing Scrabble. Thanks for all the games and books.The post office/ shop in the next village was well stocked with a variety of food and a lovely selection of fresh vegetables.The Fox and Pheasant although being refurbished and was only partially opened was great to go and sit by the fire after a days walking to enjoy a pint of Patterdale Ale. Everyone was so friendly.Thank you Aileen and Stephen for a wonderful rest at your cottage and for making us feel welcome. We had a fab time.

I've travelled for work over 20 years now, up and down the country and I've stayed in all sorts of accommodation. I'd say that this one was close to perfect for everything I needed. The photos on line actually don't do it justice. The finish inside the accommodation is beautiful, and everywhere is spotless. A very pleasant environment indeed. The owners are lovely and respectful of your privacy, but approachable if there is anything you need. I travel with a 4 year old lab. There are plenty of places for dogs nearby. The river in Armathwaite is a lovely walk. For me this little cottage scores very highly and I have no hesitation in recommending it to. Top drawer stuff 👌

Super little holiday rental. Very well equipped for two people. Lovely owners who were just nearby. We had a really great break, The view from the conservatory was wonderful. Good access to the A6/M6 and no distance from the great scenery of the Lakes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Old Dairy Cottage is a real home from home. It is one of the most comfortable and spacious holiday cottages we've been to and has everything you might need for a relaxing holiday. The garden is enclosed, so great for our dog, and both the garden and conservatory are ideally positioned to watch the sunset at the end of the day. The bedroom is not south facing and much cooler, which was a godsend as we had very hot weather whilst we were there (and the bed was very comfy!) The owners, Stephen and Aileen are lovely and gave us loads of information about the local area, including walks and places to eat. We had a fantastic week at the Old Dairy Cottage and we'll definitely be visiting again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had the best holiday, weather was great. Loved everything about the cottage,clean lovely decor and well equipped . Also Steven and Aileen made us most welcome, Aileen even introduced me to her horses, small pony's, goats, sheep, dogs and not to forget the cat. Would recommend The Fox and Pheasant .

Lovely cottage in village location. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Perfect for getting away from it all but still in easy distance of places to visit if you so wish. Beautiful area to walk in with plenty of public footpaths. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to go back!
