Good morning, Chipping Sodbury!

We have a few events happening over the weekend to tell you about.

Ian McGuire - Solo Encounter are putting on a performance at our fabulous The Beaufort Hunt, this Sunday 20th September from 6.30pm.

Our Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury are holding a Swimathon at Yate Leisure Centre on Saturday 19th September from 1pm - 4pm, & Sunday 20th September from 9am - 12om, raising money for Gympanzees, inclusive spaces for disabled children to play.

Ninebarrow are performing a music concert on Sunday 20th September from 2pm, at Horton & Little Sodbury Village Hall.

Yoga classes at our fabulous Goldney House Wellness Centre & Business Space have new times from September. Sessions are now on Thursdays from 6 30pm - 7.40pm, & Fridays from 2pm - 3pm.

Good evening, Chipping Sodbury!

Today, Milo, from Milo’s Pizza, celebrates their 1st birthday here with us, in our beautiful town of Chipping Sodbury! 🤗 🥳 🎉

We popped in earlier this evening to see Milo & congratulate him on his 1st birthday with us & it was lovely to see him. Milo is such a friendly & easygoing chap & he clearly loves what he does; which is creating the best sourdough pizzas around!

We asked Milo what he likes about being in Chipping Sodbury & what it's like running his own business, & what does the future hold for Milo & Milo's Pizza?

What do you like about Chipping Sodbury?

"Mainly the people, obviously a beautiful town, & lots of lovely families that come in here & lots of friends, it's a great place to be."

What's it like running your own business?

"Yes, I'm absolutely loving running my own business & very much enjoy working for myself, & get to do what I love."

What does the future hold for Milo's Pizza, got any plans, are you going to open up some chains?

(laughs knowingly) "Ahhh, that's top secret, top secret, sorry, (laughs again) probably going to move to Dubai"

That was a joke Milo's not moving to Dubai, but knowing Milo & how ambitious he is, don't be surprised if in 10 years time Milo's Pizza is a massive worldwide company with chains all around the world. If that happens, remember it was Chipping Sodbury where it all began!

Milo is currently open on Thursdays & Fridays here in Chipping Sodbury from 5pm - 9pm, & spends Saturdays at the Wave in Bristol. At some point in October, Milo will be going back to Friday & Saturday nights, so do keep an eye on his socials, & of course we'll let you know, too. Maybe he might even bring back last year's amazing limited edition pumpkin pizza in time for Halloween? 🤔 🎃

Good morning, Chipping Sodbury!

After a wet start to the day, the clouds are clearing & we even have some sunshine poking through. 🌧 🌞

We're open until 4pm today, 10am - 4pm tomorrow, & 10am - 2pm on Saturday. Our Chipping Sodbury Christmas cards are selling well, & after many of our customers having asked for a TIC design to be made, we're happy to report that a clock tower design is in production & we'll let you know when they're in stock! 🤗 🎄

Brookfield Garden Services are at hatherells yard market today until around 3pm, selling a lovely selection of end-of-season plants & flowers, so do have a look as you're passing through. Thanks. 😊 💐 🌹 🌸 🏵

I popped in to see Polly from Sodbury Coffee Counter & picked up a coffee & a sausage & bacon bap. It was just what was needed after a wet & windy school run. It's so lovely to see Polly all settled in & making a roaring success of things, & there's such a great variety of food & drink for quite a small space. 😋 ☕️ 🥓 🥪

Today we're sharing our Chipping Sodbury Clock Tower Fund 's review of our Pig Racing event held by our wonderful The Horseshoe Pub!

I will try to repeat what I said at the opening of the event.

"Im Ben, from the Tourist Information Centre & I would like to thank Matt, the Horseshoe team, Ian, Ricky, Keith, Scott, Maggie, & Katie for giving up their time & arranging & partaking in this fantastic event, & thank you to everyone else in attendance for taking part.

The money raised will go towards the restoration & preservation of our iconic clock tower building, & whilst every pound raised helps & is important, for me personally, it is more about the community spirit & community involvement in a project that is really bringing the town together. The positive engagement from our businesses has been amazing, & for me, that's what today is all about. Thanks again to everyone who arranged this & all of you wonderful people for being here today to help us raise some money.

Good morning, Chipping Sodbury!

We're open until 2pm today, selling a whole host of Chipping Sodbury souvenirs including historical books, postcards & next year's Chipping Sodbury 2027 calendars with photos by our town's photographer Rich McD!

Hatherell's Yard market is on now until 4pm & every Saturday from now until Christmas. It's always very popular with a variety of rotating & returning stallholders offering amazing quality items at great prices.

Our pig racing event for our "Preserving our Time" Chipping Sodbury Clock Tower Fund takes place today from 1pm - 7pm at our fabulous The Horseshoe pub, & I'll be leaving here early to get there for 12.30pm. Leslie will be coming up to cover me from 12 30pm - 2pm. We hope to see many of you there! 🤗 🙏

Good day to you all, Chipping sodbury, & to all of our audience far & wide!

If you've never been to Chipping Sodbury before you wouldn't know what a beautiful town it is & how many amazing independent businesses there are. There is so much variety here & some of the best cafes, pubs & restaurants you could ever wish for! ☕️ 🍺

Our amazing shopkeepers maintain beautiful window displays & take great pride in the presentation of the shop fronts, which can be seen in the photos where they've recently been freshly decorated & look fantastic!

We've had lots of tourists from Australia.com, USA TODAY, Canada & Germany who have travelled all this way to walk the famous Cotswold Way & have all said what a beautiful town we have, which is so lovely to hear! 🤗 😍

We have the famous Chipping Sodbury Mop Fayre coming up soon & it won't be long until the town is beautifully decorated & lit up for Christmas ready for the annual Chipping Sodbury Christmas Sunday!

We have beautiful accommodation available & miles of countryside to explore & are only a short walk away from the Cotswold Way.

There are buses that can take you directly to our nearby cities of Bath & Bristol, & a train station in our friendly neighbouring town of Yate Yate Heritage Centre that can take you to London, or our friends in the beautiful old market town of Chippenham Chippenham Museum .

We're also only a short drive away from our friends in Tetbury Visit Tetbury, which is right next to the official home residence of our Majesties, their Royal Highnesses King Charles & Queen Camilla!

We're incredibly grateful for all the international visitors we've had, as well as those from within our shores, & we hope more of you visit us again. 🤗 🥰

Good afternoon, Chipping Sodbury!

We have a few charity events coming up that we would like to share with you.

Our Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury have a Swimathon taking place on Saturday the 19th of September, between 1pm - 4pm, & Sunday the 20th of September, between 9am - 12pm. Both dates are at Yate Leisure Centre in the main swimming pool & are raising money for Gympanzees - inclusive spaces for disabled children to play.

Down in Yate, from today until Sunday the 13th of September, the Cancer Research charity shop are selling many of their items for just £1.00! Please see the attached photo & do pop along for some fantastic bargains on as new items that will help continue the much needed & vital research into a disease that affects all of us. Thank you.

Good afternoon, Chipping Sodbury!

This Saturday, 12th September, from 1pm - 7pm, in aid of our Chipping Sodbury Clock Tower Fund, our fabulous The Horseshoe Pub are hosting a pig racing event with live music from Ian McGuire - Solo Encounter & special guest, Ricky!

Sharing events directly doesn't seem to agree with the algorithms, with yesterday's event share only getting 161 views, so we're posting it like this to try to generate a better reach.

We also have Chipping Sodbury Christmas cards now on sale with all profits going towards the fund, & many of our businesses are also helping out, including Swagger - Unique Gifts & Jewellery & Heather Norman, thank you so much! 🤗 🙏

Yesterday we had to close at 1pm due to unforseen circumstances with our volunteers. We are entirely volunteer run & whilst doing our best to honour our advertised hours, sometimes things happen which force us to close. If we are ever closed during our advertised hours we sincerely apologise & will endeavour to minimise any early or partial closing. We hope you understand & we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Good afternoon, Chipping Sodbury!

On behalf of everybody at our TIC, we would like to wish our long-serving volunteers, Barry & Leslie, a very happy 50th Wedding Anniversary!

Barry & Leslie are much loved amongst our volunteers & have been with us for many years; Barry being our longest serving member for over 16 years! Volunteering every Friday morning as well as covering other shifts, Barry & Leslie's knowledge of the town as well as our TIC procedures are 2nd to none. Barry also makes our keyrings & fridge magnets & knows everything there is to know about the history of our great town.

Many congratulations to you both & we hope you have a lovely weekend of celebrations! 🤗 🥳 🎈 🎈

Early this morning after selling 2 copies each of volumes 1 & 2 of Jim Elsworth's Sodbury Tales to 2 lovely ladies, we were also visited by a lovely couple from Australia; Glenda & Colin. Glenda is none other than Glenda Hatherell, the Great Granddaughter of John & Elizabeth Hatherell of Hatherell's Yard! Glenda told us that many of John Hatherell's descendants now live in Australia & it was absolutely fantastic for her to pay us a visit! They are here for 3 days & are taking a Chipping Sodbury calendar, a mug & fridge magnet back to Australia with them, & are also now following our page!

It was absolutely lovely to meet you, Glenda & Colin, we hope you enjoy your stay here & have a safe journey back to Australia. Hopefully, we'll see you again! 😊
