Good morning, Chipping Sodbury!

Tomorrow, Saturday 13th June from 1pm - 4pm is our fabulous Sodbury in Bloom Community Garden Open Day! There will be tea & cake & plants for sale to help our fantastic Sodbury in Bloom team continue to make our town look beautiful! The garden can be found by walking up Hounds Road from the Spar & taking a right along Horseshoe Lane past the school playground & the entrance is through a gate on the right that backs into our Town Council gardens. The weather is looking good for tomorrow so we hope to see you all there! 😊 🐝 💐 🦋.

Sticking with the wildlife & nature theme, we have restocked Sydney's Patch, a book by local author Bronwen Williams, & it is signed by her, too!

We also have a lovely range of nature themed items from the Emma Ball range, featuring tins, glasses cases, purses & washbags.

We're open from 10am - 4pm today & don't forget to enter our giveaway where we have 5 tickets up for grabs for tonight's Superstars of Wrestling show at our town hall. Please see our previous post for details! 🤗

Good morning, Chipping Sodbury!

We're open & ready for another day & we close at 4pm. We have in stock some lovely black & white historical photocards of our beloved clock tower before it became the Tourist Information Centre & we also have some great colour photocards of our beautiful town, too.

We also have a great selection of fridge magnets & keyrings with images of our town provided by our fabulous Mayor Award winning photographer, Rich McD!

Good evening, Chipping Sodbury!

Tonight's post goes out to Charlie & the team at our absolutely fantastic Amié La Mort!

Last Friday, 5th of June, Charlie undertook a 24hr haircutathon to raise money for ! They certainly don't do things by half at Amié La Mort, & Charlie, not content at just cutting hair for 24hrs straight, also undertook a 5k run at 10pm! 😱 😅

Together they raised over £7000 for Bristol Mind which is an absolutely incredible achievement! The photos used in this post are with permission from Amié La Mort & below is a snippet from their Facebook post:

" 24 hours. One chair. One incredible cause.

Charlie set out to complete a 24-hour cutting challenge in support of Bristol Mind, and thanks to the unbelievable support from clients, friends, local businesses and the wider community, together we raised an incredible £7,620 + Gift Aid. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who booked in, donated, shared the event, stopped by to support, or simply helped spread the word. Every pound raised will help Bristol Mind continue providing vital mental health support to those who need it most.

A special mention to Brody, who played a huge part in the fundraising effort through his semi-colon and diamond tattoos throughout the event. 👏

Good morning, Chipping Sodbury!

We're open until 1pm today as we're still in need of a pair of volunteers to fill the slot - can you help? If so, please get in touch.

We have an excellent selection of walking the Cotswolds books, including a book that specialises in cycling the Cotswolds, too! 🚲 These books are slightly smaller than A5, so are very practical for walking with.

We also have a great range of Ordinance Survey maps & plenty of free local walking leaflets, too. 🚶‍♀️

Our opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 10am - 4pm, closing at 1pm on Wednesdays & 2pm on Saturdays.

Good evening, Chipping Sodbury!

The last Sunday of this month, 28th of June, is the 30th Chipping Sodbury Classic Car Run!

"A trip of around 70 miles through the Gloucestershire countryside, with a coffee stop at The Highwayman Inn, Winstone. For pre-millennium cars, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles. The run starts on Chipping Sodbury High Street from 7.30 am onwards, and ends at The Ridings, Wickwar Road, with the first cars returning from about 12.00 & exclusive parking for entrants. Everyone welcome to see the cars off, and join the fun on their return.

Places are still available, so if you or anyone you know has a car or motorcycle from before 2000, a vintage car or any age Jaguar, please get in touch with our Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury on the above email. Thanks!

Our Cottage Bakehouse will be open early as usual for this event, so too will be Jon Howell Family Butcher/Lorraine's Cheese serving bacon baps with proceeds going towards the RNLI.

Friends Kitchen - Amigos Cocina will be open early too, serving breakfast burritos & many of our fine cafes will be operating their usual Sunday hours as well, so there will be plenty of variety for everyone for what is always a fantastic morning & afternoon!

We'll post again before the day of the run & we'll update you all with anyone else who will be opening extra early for this event. We'll be there as usual, we're really looking forward to it & we hope to see you all there!

🚨 NEW IN STOCK! 🚨

Good afternoon, Chipping Sodbury!

What have our cheeky little bears been getting up to? We caught them out messing around in our new mugs! 😅

We have new in stock some Chipping Sodbury mugs & we thought we'd go a bit different & showcase a different part of our town, Broad Street. We think they look great & add extra variety to the other mugs of Chipping Sodbury we have available.

We're open until 4pm today & we are asking our customers to fill in a questionnaire from our Chamber of Commerce Welcome to Chipping Sodbury. A short number of questions regarding our shops & your experience shopping with us need answering & what we're really interested in is, if you had the choice, what new shop would you really like to see in Chipping Sodbury? A photo of the questionnaire is attached so you can also answer them in the comments below if that's easier. Thank you!

Good afternoon, Chipping Sodbury!

We were up early this morning helping our Sodbury in Bloom team put up the hanging baskets around our town, putting the beautiful into our beautiful town of Chipping Sodbury! 🤗 🥰 💐 🌹 🌸 🏵

Members of our community turned up in great numbers including members of our Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury, & we even took the time & made use of the ladders to adjust some of the carnival bunting that had become a bit low & bedraggled from all the wind we've had these last few days.

Thanks to our fabulous Sodbury in Bloom team & everyone else who gave up their Sunday to help, & a huge thanks goes to our fantastic Cottage Bakehouse for providing us all with free coffees! 😋 ☕️

Good evening, Chipping & Old Sodbury!

After closing at 2pm, Jeff drove us up to Old Sodbury to see how their Old Sodbury Village Day was going & we're happy to report that despite the rain, it was absolutely brilliant!

On arrival it was great to see our glamorous Mayor in attendance & showing her support.

The village hall was heaving & everybody was having a really good time. The live music was great, there was dancing & singing by the local children, face painting, pebble painting, chess, a cake sale by the Old Sodbury Women's Institute, a book sale & 2 excellent stalls with (on Instagram) & Wallow Pottery.

There were sweets & candy floss & the hot food was provided by 2 of our well-known locals; The One Pizza Van & (on Instagram). Their food is excellent & having tried them both out at Good Times Live, I was pleased to see them again. 😋 🍕 🐑 🍔

Heritage photos & information was on display from Yate Heritage Centre & it was so good to see the local community come together in such great numbers, the feeling of community togetherness was really lovely. 💖

Thanks to Jo Cox from Toodle Pip Media for giving me a lift back home because I would have got a soaking, otherwise! 😅 🌧

Good afternoon, Chipping Sodbury!

Despite the weather, we've had a fairly busy morning & the town has been busy, too. We had a couple from Sussex here to explore the Cotswolds & wanted recommendations of the best cafes in town, so we pointed them in the direction of Cottage Bakehouse, The Hamptons Deli, Chipping Sodbury, The Coffee Bean & the Willow and Fig Cafe, all of which are absolutely fantastic! 🤗 😋

We have a couple of events coming up next week to tell you about.

On Friday the 12th June, get out your spandex, oil yourselves up & come on over to our town hall from 7pm & get ready to ruuuuuuuuummmmble for a fantastic night of wrestling with the Superstars of Wrestling! Tickets are available by scanning the QR code or visiting the website in the above picture.

On Saturday the 13th June, is our fabulous Sodbury in Bloom Community Garden Open Day! 💐 🌹 🌸 🐝 🐝 🦋

From 1pm - 4pm there will be tea & cake & plants for sale with proceeds going towards our Sodbury in Bloom team which helps to keep our town looking beautiful! The garden can be found behind the high street by walking up Hounds Road, taking a right along Horseshoe Lane & going through the gate that backs into the Town Council gardens. 😊

We close at 2pm today but Hatherell's Yard market is open until 4pm with all sorts of interesting items from some amazing unique stallholders!
