As a local engineering company, last year we were approached by High Peak Youth Robotics club to consider helping them with sponsorship.

The club was set up in order for local young people (ages 12-18) to have the chance to enter the FIRST Tech Challenge UK & Ireland - an international robotics and engineering competition - and pursue their love and learning of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

They also teamed up with Funny Wonders CIC, an already very well-established youth group in Buxton, in order to help them achieve their goal.

We were happy to help and donated 2 Warrior wheelbarrows to them, one to be used as there chariot to transport their robot into the competition arena and one to raffle off to raise further funds for the club.

The youth-led rookie team made it all the way to the FIRST Tech Challenge UK National Championships at the Copper Box Arena, London on 26–27 June 2025!

Out of 64 teams, they were one of only four community teams to qualify — a massive achievement for their first season.

They didn’t reach the knockout stages this time, but the experience, learning, and inspiration were priceless. They were up against teams with more years of experience and much more advanced kit and robots — and it only made them more determined.
The team came home full of ideas, proud of what they’d achieved, and fired up to compete again next year.,

Congratulations to all involved, we’re proud to be associated with such a fantastic group and look forward to seeing how you do in future competitions.

On Monday 7th July 2025 HYPAC (Hartington Young Peoples Activity Club) held there annual summer BBQ. It was created to address the issues of lack of access to facilities, equipment leaders’ skills acquisition and competition for young people in Hartington Village and the surrounding district. It is run by a voluntary dedicated team, School and Parents Parish Council, Village Hall, Parochial Church Council and Hartington Community Group and are supported by Derbyshire Dales, Active Derbyshire, RDSSP and Youth Sports Trust.

As an activity club rather than a sports specific club, there aim is to help young people engage in a wide range of activities that they might not otherwise easily access. There key principles include learning to work together, respecting oneself and others, and developing essential like skills such as confidence, resilience, and the ability to challenge oneself.

They run an annual programme of 30 weeks per year on Monday evenings from 5.30 – 7.30pm for 6 – 12-year-olds. This is a full programme of activities which includes, multi skills and a range of individual and team sports, problem solving and teamwork activities, leadership, and life skills as well as outdoor activities delivered by Lea Green Learning and Development Centre.

They have enjoyed some great activities this year which included, rock climbing, pot holing, canoeing, nature walks, Judo, first aid, obstacle causes , water slides too many to name all. They also supported Altrad on World Environmental Day earlier in the year, collecting litter from around the village of Hartington.

🌾 Supporting Our Local Farming Community 🌾

Altrad Belle was proud to support the British Grassland Society after being approached to help with a raffle prize for their recent farm walk in Sheen. We were more than happy to donate one of our trusted Warrior Wheelbarrows to the cause!

The event was a great success, with around 65 attendees enjoying the farm walk, raffle, and food. A fantastic £450 was raised, which will go towards supporting the Society and its future activities.

This society (Charity No. 261800) brings together the rural community locally with discussion groups, informational talks, and a chance to socialise with likeminded individuals within an industry that is known for isolation and depression. It is a communication forum between all different professions within the agricultural industry.

Great to be part of something so positive in our local agricultural community!

Earlier this month Manifold C of E Academy PTFA in Warslow held their very first Summer Fayre and it was an incredible success.

There was a fantastic turn out, with great community spirit, and the overwhelming support made it all worthwhile.

We joined in the fun and arrived with one of our DX 1000HT 1-tonne, hi-tip dumpers to start-off the inaugural Duck Race. The race was a massive success, after some trepidation of how it would turn out, it was an amazing finale to the event.

We also donated one of our world famous Warrior wheelbarrows, which was included as part of the raffle.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the school raised just over £3000, which will go towards an exciting project at the school in the future.

Going beyond basic teaching and instruction, IOSH Managing Safely makes a powerful case for safety and health as an integral part of day-to-day management and business.
