Nevis canoe club We are a club based in and around Fort William. See our events for details of our paddles and socials. If you have any enquiries please get in touch.

Any questions or queries please do drop us a message or email [email protected] We are Fort William based canoe club, with around 50 members of all ages and abilities. As long as you are happy to get wet then you are more than welcome to come and join us. During the summer we have weekly sea kayak trips every Tuesday evening and river trips on Thursday evenings. The club is also used as a foru

m to meet other keen paddlers who just want to get out whenever and wherever. We also provide lots of kayak sessions for young people and beginners. We have kayaks and various other bits of paddling kit for members to use. During the winter when it is too cold to paddle we have regular pool sessions to keep the skills up. We also provide kids sessions and beginner sessions for this as well.

Smirisary Paddle Sat 16 Aug 2025
Some of our club members enjoyed a great paddle in perfect weather conditions today. We paddled from Glenuig round to Smirisiary beach. On our coffee stop here we were treated to a display of porpoises/dolphins – although well offshore, it was still impressive. We then did a loop of the small islands of Eilean Coille and An Glas-eilean and into the North Channel off Eilean Shona. Another stop at the beach on the way back where two of our group went in for a refreshing dip. Back to a busy Glenuig beach and a round-up drink in the Glenuig Inn.

Tuesday night's peer paddle out to Inverscaddle Bay and around Black Rock (aka Seal Island 🦭).

Review:
"Memorable amongst other things for the pong from the bubbles caused by the rising tide and the seals on the rock" 😂🌊🦭
