God Bless you Gino! What a beautiful portrait!

The owner of an iconic Glasgow west end cafe has been painted by a royal portrait artist as part of a new public exhibition 🖌️

Gino Verrecchia, owner of The University Cafe, on Byres Road, has been painted by acclaimed artist Gareth Reid, with the portrait to be displayed at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery 😮

He was selected as part of a campaign by Coca-Cola to recognise the contribution independent businesses make in their local communities

He said: "We're proud to be a fifth-generation family business, but it really is the people of Glasgow who have kept the cafe at the heart of the community for more than a century.” 💜

We've been taking haggis back to the US for over 20 years. Put it in your hold luggage. Job done. Still shocking to think you cannot import haggis to the US. Local butchers will still make it and it's worth hunting down your local St. Andrew's Societies, Caledonian Clubs or Clan Associations to see who they recommend.

Haggis has been banned in the USA since the early 1970s due to the fact it contains sheep's lungs.

How is it possible we don't have better accessibility yet on our subway system? We all need help at some point in our lives. I hope real change happens in my lifetime.

Glasgow's subway has 15 stations but just two have lifts to the platforms which causes a problem for wheelchair users.
