🍴 What do your children eat on holiday? 🍴

These photos were taken at the same meal. I have one boy that will try absolutely anything (yes, that's a grilled baby octopus), and the other that isn't interested unless it's plain and sauceless - note the French stick and chicken skewer of choice. 😆

As much as we love dining out, or choosing from a menu even if all inclusive, I find that they (and my occasionally fussy husband) try more different foods from a buffet. That night the picky one went on to try fresh tuna and even enjoyed it!

The great thing about Jawakara Islands though is that even the kid's options at the included a la carte restaurants were reflective of the food style. For example the Asian includes items like steamed chicken dumplings and marinated crispy beef - not a chicken nugget in sight! Neither child was restricted, so my more adventurous 11 year old was able to choose from the full menu despite being classified as a child. 🍱

Back in body, but certainly not in mind! 🫪

In true Mallinson style, of course our return wasn't completely smooth so we walked through the door this morning - about 10 hours later than expected thanks to our flight from Male being delayed, meaning a missed connection. Fortunately Emirates shine in these situations and already had us booked on the earliest available flight with a short hotel stay in a Dubai hotel with dinner.

Officially I'm back to work. Unofficially I've had a nap but I'm still staring at my computer like a zombie and nothing of importance will be completed today and my children will be parented by screens. 😵‍💫🙌🏼

Business as usual tomorrow... ✍️😆

It took a few days of not actually looking very hard, but I finally found Mr/Mrs turtle yesterday. 🐢

It was in the same spot both morning and afternoon, but this was the better video of the two.

Still one of my favourite sights when snorkelling. 🩵
