Last Thursdays trip to London was a real treat...

I was invited to the Abercrombie & Kent offices, along with a small group of fellow agents, to dive deeper into what they offer as a premium luxury travel brand. We explored some incredible destinations across the globe, with a special focus on Egypt, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Africa and The Americas.

We also learned more about their partnership with Cox & Kings, their beautiful Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero retreats, and their exceptional luxury journeys around the Galapagos Islands. It all ties in perfectly with my passion for curating premium, tailor-made travel experiences for my clients. And to top it all off, I even won a prize in the raffle!

Yesterday I had the incredible opportunity to step aboard the expedition ship HX Fram — and it completely reignited my passion for adventure travel. Even more special, this is the first time she’s docked in UK waters for many years as she journeys from southern polar regions to the Arctic.

This is not your typical cruise. Expedition cruising is all about what happens off the ship — getting out into nature, exploring remote landscapes, and experiencing places most people only ever see in documentaries. Think Antarctica and the Arctic, where you are immersed in the ice, wildlife and raw beauty of the planet.

Purpose-built for polar exploration, HX Fram is ice-strengthened and small enough to access places larger ships simply can’t. One day you could be watching penguins in Antarctica, the next scanning the pack ice for polar bears in the High Arctic.

On board, it’s the perfect balance of comfort and exploration:
✨ Stylish lounges and panoramic viewing areas
✨ Incredible expedition teams and expert guides
✨ Fantastic food inspired by the regions visited
✨ A strong focus on science, sustainability and discovery

And the experiences? Zodiac landings, guided hikes, kayaking, wildlife encounters, even camping on the ice on some voyages.

What really struck me is how popular this style of travel is becoming with all ages — especially multi-generational families wanting unforgettable shared experiences rather than a traditional fly-and-flop holiday.

If standing on the ice watching penguins waddle past or spotting polar bears from the deck of a specialist expedition ship sounds like your kind of adventure, I’d love to help you plan it.

“Got home yesterday and I just wanted to thank you so much for planning such a wonderful trip…”
My lovely clients had never used a travel agent before, but chose to trust me with their dream Canada adventure. From start to finish they loved how seamless everything felt: the routing, timings, hotels and special experiences all flowed together so they could simply relax and enjoy the journey.
Some of their highlights:
❄ Snowy wonderland scenes in Banff and incredible powder skiing at Lake Louise and Sunshine Village
🛣 The Icefields Parkway up to Jasper, with those majestic, take-your-breath-away views
🚠 A gondola ride up Whistlers Mountain, then snowshoeing to the top in that magical spring “shoulder season” snow
✨ A surprise upgrade to a beautiful suite in Jasper
🌲 Discovering the waterfalls, forests and dramatic gorges of Wells Gray Provincial Park
🏔 Fairmont luxury in Whistler, sunbathing by a 22-degree pool while skiers headed up to Blackcomb for snow on the peaks
🚁 A spontaneous helicopter flight over glaciers and snow-capped mountains for a 50th birthday to remember
🌊 The iconic Sea to Sky Highway to Vancouver, with another waterfall stop in Squamish
They told me they would “recommend this road trip over the Canadian Rockies train any day” for the freedom to stop wherever they liked, soak up the scenery and get even more value for money.
If you are dreaming of Canada’s snow-capped peaks, sparkling lakes and once-in-a-lifetime road trips, I would love to design something just as personal for you: a trip that feels effortless, but is full of “wow” moments from start to finish.
Message me to start planning your own Canada adventure.

Back at work today after a beautiful few days in Devon. When the sunshines it’s hard to imagine someone as lovely as the UK coast. If only we could book the sunshine I don’t think we’d ever leave.

Salcombe has been a family favourite for a number of years and never disappoints. It’s the perfect combination of seaside town, lovey boutique shops, traditional pubs, ice cream, sandy beaches and coastal walks.

The South West Coast Path known for its dramatic cliffs and sea views is nearby, perfect for some yoga poses! I feel if you’ve done a good 10km walk then you’ve earned a pasty and pint!

Back at my desk today and over the weekend catching up on some new enquiries including Vietnam, Thailand, Costa Rica and maybe even the North Pole!

Drop me a line if you’ve like help with your next adventure, UK or further afield!

The Maldives are famous for their incredible snorkelling, stunning sunsets, white sand, delicious food, romantic views and of course beautiful beaches. All these things are reasons to visit.

What about yoga? These are some throwback photos from a couple of years ago when I was lucky enough to enjoy sunrise yoga on the beach. And some yoga hanging from the ceiling , which was interesting, and sweatier than it looks!

Wellness is becoming an increasing part of many people’s holidays. It used to be ( for me anyway) working on my tan during the day and indulging in food and drink at every opportunity. These days like many people I’m looking for more balance ( see what I did there!)

Yes we all love a lie in, lazy beach days, cocktails and great food, but activities such as yoga ( don’t get me started on Padel!) are increasingly important.

The best holidays aren’t spent doing nothing - they are spent doing what you love. Swap your sun-bed for something that makes you feel alive. Morning yoga in the Maldives feels like a pretty good example of that.

What would be your holiday activity?

Three years ago I went on the trip of a lifetime to Australia’s incredible Northern Territory.
I was one of a group of Travel agents ( before I was even a Travel Counsellor) invited by the NT tourist board to experience everything the region had to offer.

I had lived in Sydney when in my 20s and experienced a lot of the east coast and beaches that this amazing country is famous for. But the Northern Territory offers something unique.

Incredible landscapes, the sacred Uluru which magically changes colour through the day, camel riding, helicopter trips across the outback, crocodile infested rivers, and who can resist a baby kangaroo!!

This trip isn’t usually something people see in their first visit to Australia, but if they want to delve a little deeper into the culture, history , wildlife and scenery the NT is a real bucket list place.

To top it off it’s some of the best star gazing I have ever seen with the clearest night sky and zero light pollution. Dinner under the stars in the outback is unforgettable.

If you want to experience something a little different and go further than the usual places please get in touch and I can help plan your bucket list trip.
