Weekend walks:
On such a sunny weekend, we had to get out for another of our weekend walks.
This time we headed up to Holme (one of our favourite beaches) and the Holme Dunes nature reserve. From here at great barn farm we can take the inland route and avoid all the coastal traffic (which is a huge plus if you’re staying with us in the Summer).
It was pretty windy on the beach, so we walked through the reserve and took the track towards Thornham.
We rounded off our walk with a ice cream from the visitors centre cafe. (Can thoroughly recommend the gooseberry flavour - delicious!)

Great news for all the short notice planners among you! The Workshop, our 16 person barn, is now available for last minute weekend stays only.
Available dates will be released on our website and insta for the month ahead.
Combine your Workshop booking with one or more of our other barns to sleep up to 36 guests.

Currently available weekends are: 16th-19th May, 23rd-26th May, 6th-9th June and 13th-16th June

At Great Barn Farm we have been accredited for 3 years, having received our Bronze award in February 2022.
We ate thrilled to announce that we have just achieved our Green Tourism Gold Award.

The Piggery is one of our wonderful two bedroom barns.

With it’s enclosed private garden and open plan kitchen living and dining area, it’s perfect for both families and friends.

Full height windows let the sun stream in and outside there’s a bbq and outdoor eating area with large parasol for those balmy Summer evenings! ☀️

All on one level and with no outside steps, it’s also our most accessible barn.

Weekend walks:
The weather was so gorgeous this weekend, we had to get out for the first of our weekend walks.
We stayed local for this one - doing the Castle Acre to West Acre loop. We started from as it’s very close to us. The route takes you past Castle Acre Priory and Castle Acre Castle.
We veered off the komoot route on the loop back to go through the beautiful Chalk Stream Restoration SSSI, along the River Nar and the West Acre rewilding area.
The route said it should take 2 hours 40, but we took 3 hours as we stopped off for a cup of tea in the sunshine. ☀️
