🌊🐠 WOW… WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY ON THE GREAT BARRIER REEF! 🚁🐢❤️
Yesterday was honestly one of those days I will NEVER forget! 🥹🇦🇺
We set off from Cairns with Sunlover Reef Cruises, heading out towards the beautiful Great Barrier Reef.
Our first stop was Fitzroy Island, where we dropped off passengers who were spending the day there. You can actually stay on the island too, and there are some gorgeous walking trails and beautiful beaches to explore.
It’s also home to Nudey Beach, which was voted one of the world’s best beaches in 2023! 🏝️ And despite the name, it’s NOT a nudist beach! 😂
🚁 Next up… A HELICOPTER FLIGHT OVER THE GREAT BARRIER REEF!
OH MY GOODNESS!!! 😍
Seeing the reef from above was absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD! The colours of the ocean, the coral formations and those incredible views… I genuinely can’t put into words how breathtaking it was. A proper bucket-list moment! ❤️
🐠 Then it was time to explore UNDER the water!
I didn’t feel quite brave enough to try scuba diving, so I opted for a helmet dive instead.
And WOW… what an experience!
You literally walk along underwater wearing a special helmet, breathing normally while surrounded by the most incredible marine life. The fish were HUGE, and being so close to them was just unbelievable! 🐟🐠
🍽️ We also enjoyed a gorgeous hot buffet lunch, which is included in the excursion. There was plenty of choice, and the food was beautiful!
The pontoon itself has so much to offer, including snorkelling, an underwater observatory, a waterslide and lots of activities for all ages.
And I have to say, the Sunlover Reef Cruises staff were absolutely INCREDIBLE! ❤️
Everyone was so friendly, helpful and reassuring, making sure we all felt comfortable and got the most out of our experience.
We were also lucky enough to have Kat from Tourism Australia and Amy from Sunlover Reef Cruises with us throughout the day, sharing this amazing experience with us. Both were absolutely lovely! ❤️
🍽️ Kat also joined us at the restaurant afterwards, which was such a lovely way to round off an unforgettable day!
Honestly, yesterday was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. From flying OVER the Great Barrier Reef to walking UNDERNEATH the water… I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced it all.
Australia, you are absolutely blowing me away! 🇦🇺❤️
And the best part? There’s still so much more to come!
